Theresa Karen MAHER

Theresa Karen Maher passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the age of 74. She was born October 2, 1950, in Omaha, Nebraska, the oldest of eleven children, daughter of Ted N. and Jocia M, Brady. Theresa graduated from Hazelwood Central High School of Hazelwood, Missouri, class of 1968. Following graduation, she attended cosmetology school in Florissant, Missouri. Shortly after beginning her career as a hairstylist, she met the love of her life in 1972, Dan Maher, they became husband and wife on September 29, 1973, and were happily married for 41 years, Theresa was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in St. Charles, Mo. for 37 years, where she served in various ministries. Her greatest joys were singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School in the 4- & 5-year old's’ class. She loved going on trips to Branson, doing word puzzles, crafting with plastic canvas, playing cribbage, cards, and of course, bingo, and spending time with all of her family. Especially her cherished granddaughter, Mia Bella. Above all, Theresa was a follower of Jesus Christ. She was a devoted prayer warrior and loved studying God’s word, along with her sisters-in-Christ at Bible Study Fellowship, where she was a part of for nearly 18 years. She was preceded in death by her parents - Ted and Jocia, four of her siblings - Tim, Ed, Diane, and Clancy, her husband - Danial Kevin Maher, Sr., and her nieces - Corrina McCoy and Kimberly Gillette Radesky. Theresa is survived by her three children - Daniel Kevin Maher, Jr. (Mary), Jennifer Maher (Her “potential” son-in-law, Danial), and Heather Maher; her beloved granddaughter, Mia Bella Maher; six siblings - Zita Locher (Paul), Steve Brady (Sandy), Bonnie Sprous (Irv), Troy Brady (Paula), Joe Brady (Dawn), Ursi Raymer (Darren), sisters-in-law - Anne Brady and Michele Brady O’Mara (Marty); many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held 11 am, Friday, February 7, 2025, at Grace Baptist Church, 3601 Ehlmann Rd., St. Charles, Mo. 63301. Those who wish to remember Theresa in a special way may make gifts in her memory to Grace Baptist Church and the Grace Baptist Church Missions Fund.
