Robert Joseph LINTZENICH

Robert Joseph Lintzenich, “Bob” or “Bobby Joe,” was born in Saint Charles, Missouri on February 25, 1963, and graduated to glory on July 10, 2025, peacefully in his sleep at his home of probable heart failure. He was 62 years old. He was the son of the late John Joseph Lintzenich and Eunice Margaret (née Grote), who preceded him to glory. He is survived by his wife, Theresa (née Lacey) and daughter Hope. He is also survived by his loving older sisters, Patricia (Philip) Wahler and Barbara Herbert of the Saint Charles area. Bob was born into a family that was very happy to finally have a boy, and his parents showed it. He was raised in a 'family-built' subdivision, where his paternal grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins lived, along with a wide array of good neighbors and friends. He grew up enjoying his favorite things: fishing, playing with his friends, wrestling with his sister and playing all kinds of sports—especially baseball. He was an extrovert who was friendly with everyone growing up, quick to laugh and liked to make others laugh too. Bob was a 1981 graduate of Francis Howell High School where he was a Letterman, still holding a spot on the FHHS Baseball Hall of Fame page. Bob holds the record for 'Single Season Average', when he hit .484 in 1981. That came from talent, but it was also a way for him to release his grief. A few months earlier, he lost his Dad, who was also his best friend. Since he was only 17 years old at the time, he whacked the ball as hard as he could to channel his grief. One of the great honors of his life was to 'try out' for the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. He spent a lot of years watching out for and doing things around the house for his Mother, before she became ill and spent her final days hospitalized. 'Bobby Joe,' as he was known growing up, was greatly loved by his family and friends. Bob went to Maryville College majoring in Horticulture. Bob's work experience is extensive. From tree nursery work to union carpentry (residential) to landscaping, to horticulturist at Bogey Hills Country Club, life insurance sales, to food delivery to schools, etc.— Bob touched many lives with his humor and hard work ethic. Even when working a job not interesting to him or beneath others' standards, Bob humbly provided for his little family. Bob became a devout Christian, and even though Bob was baptized as an infant, he decided to get baptized again in 1991 after committing his life to Jesus, and coming to God after 10 years of being angry about his Dad's premature death. Bob would go on to read through the Bible every year for 30+ years. His church attendance started with his mom bringing him to First Methodist Church of Saint Charles, and, as an adult, deciding to go to Grace Church St Louis, Harvester Christian Church and then back to Grace Church Saint Louis for the final years of his life. And, for his last year, he went to Catholic 6:30am mass at St Peter's Church in St Charles every weekday. He said it is the most peaceful time of his day. He married Theresa Lacey in 1992, and they had a daughter, Hope, who was born in 2003. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing. Other interests of his included working out, following the stock market, national and local politics, coin collection, watching TV shows like The Waltons, Leave It To Beaver, MASH, Seinfeld, Tool Time and The Andy Griffith Show. His love for God and people was seen through his work ethic and humor, which always made others laugh until they cried. Bob was also not afraid to critique, and even though it sounded a little harsh sometimes, he figured it was needed. Bob did have the talent to win people's favor back when he wanted to, though. There was a private family burial on July 18 at Oak Grove Cemetery and a public “Gone to Glory” celebration services planned for August 8 at Grace Church Saint Louis.
