MARTIN, Dolly

The beautiful, strong, and lovely, Dolly Martin passed away Wednesday March 20, 2013 in St. Peters Mo, at her young age of 80. Born on January 23, 1933 in Rector, Arkansas to Guy and Laura (Callow) Mark. She was the longest living of 9 children. Dolly was married to Chester Paul Martin for 26 years. They had three children, Harry, Debra and Donna. Survivors include children: Harry (Butch) and Neva (Beard) Martin, Debra and Mike Susic; and Donna and Merl Matthewman all of the St. Charles area;6 Grandchildren: Melissa Lauftketter, Mike Susic, Chris Susic, Joel Martin, Shauna Mussey, and Nikki Matthewman. One Grandson preceded her in death - Justin Paul Martin. When she first came to St. Louis from Arkansas she worked as a carhop at The Parkmoor Restaurant.Then she worked at Carter Carburetor, where she met Paul, and had to quit because you couldn’t date your boss. LOL She became a C.N.A. and worked at a nursing home in Chesterfield for 13 years. For a year she worked at McDonnell Douglas, where Ms. Pricilla McDonnell went looking for a housekeeper/cook, and found just what she was looking for in Dolly. She worked for her until she retired in 1993. The most important aspect of her life was her family. She loved to be with them and was always there to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed life, watching the hummingbirds in her backyard, bingo, going to the casino and was a friend to oh so many! Family and friends wishing to honor Dolly’s memory may make a memorial contribution to the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes St. Peters Hospital in care of Alternative Funeral & Cremation Services, 2115 Parkway Dr, St. Peters, MO 63376. The family would like to thank Barnes Jewish St. Peters Hospital, and the Siteman Cancer Center for taking such good care of our Mom. Remember me with laughter and not with grieving tears. Remember me with happiness when you look back on the years. Remember me with loving thoughts that showed me how you cared. Remember me with memories, of the talks we shared. Remember me when you are lonely and feel you need a friend. Remember me forever and my life will never end. Keep alive my memory, and we’ll never have to part. For when you feel you need me, I’ll be there, inside your heart! A Visitation will be held Friday March 29, 2013 at Alternative Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel, 2115 Parkway Drive, Saint Peters, Missouri (see attached map) 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
