MAHON, Floyd

Floyd Mahon of St. Charles, MO, age 75, died May 1st at his residence. He was born March 20, 1938 in St. Peters MO. He is preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Lillian and his brother Richard. Floyd married Judy (Montgomery) on September 5th, 1959 in St. Louis. He is survived by his wife and children Keith, Patrick (Kathleen), Kathy (Derek), Sean (Jenni) and Heather (Chris). He was the beloved Grandfather of Ashley, James, Matthew, Sean, Katie, Nicole, Andrea, Tim, DJ, Ethan, Ryan, and Great-Grandfather of Chase, Adrianna, and Cecelia. Floyd also leaves behind his sister-in-laws Lou, Molly, MaryLou, Peggy, MaryAnne and brother-in-laws Marc, Kevin and was preceded in death by brother-in-laws Gerald and Robert. Floyd was loved by numerous nieces and nephews. Floyd loved to entertain his family and friends. He had a passion for sharing his cooking and his jokes. Some dishes and jokes were better than others. Floyd vacationed extensively and spent many vacations with his family. For the past 32 years, he traveled annually to Cancun Mexico. That served as his 2nd home and he welcomed friends and family to join him. Floyd was the Treasurer and very active in helping the poor through his work with St. Vincent dePaul. Floyd and his childhood friend Ron (they met in 1st Grade) started the"Swing Kings"a dance band in the 50's. He continued his love for big band music throughout his life. Floyd was an accountant by trade and started his career at Ozark Airlines, where he met Judy. He also worked at Preferred, Diversified Metals, Binkley Manufacturing, and Baue Funeral Homes until he became the co-owner of Brite Pest Control, where he was affectionately known as "Floyd the Bug Man". He retired from Brite in 2001. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 3rd at Alternative Funeral & Cremation Services, 2115 Parkway Drive, St. Peters, MO 63376. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4th, at St. Robert Belarmine Catholic Church, 1424 First Capitol Drive South, St. Charles, MO 63303 [See attached map.] Please gather at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made in Floyd’s name to either Mahon Center - Community Living, Inc, St. Peters Howell Rd, St. Peters, MO, 63376 or St. Vincent de Paul Society - St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 1424 First Capitol Dr. South, St. Charles, MO 63303.
