Lucille F. FUEGNER

Lucille (Lue) (Heckemeier) Fuegner passed away peacefully on Monday, April 29, 2024 after her long battle with dementia, at the age of 95. She was the wonderful mother of Larry (Sheila), Kurt, and Dave (Nancy). Loving grandmother of Joshua (Jenna) Fuegner and Megan Fuegner; Julie Mottert (Josh), Jake (Nicole) Fuegner, Ashley Donaldson (Gary), and Andrew Fuegner; Lynsey Fuegner, Nick (Kelsy) Fuegner, Beth (Justin) Stilwell and Alex Fuegner. Dear great grandmother of Sophia and Lucas Fuegner; Hannah, Ethan, Garret and Clayton Mottert; Grant and Kallie Fuegner; Natalie, Carter, and Abbie Donaldson; and Ellie Stilwell. Dear aunt and friend to many. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Leo P. Fuegner, dear sister, Irene Unnerstall, parents Frederick (Fritz) and Frances (Rothermel) Heckemeier and daughter in law Nancy (Underwood) Fuegner, wife of Kurt . Lucille’s parents, Fritz and Frances were both born in Germany and she carried that German tradition of great cooking with a stern and loving upbringing of her three boys. She loved to take cruises in the Caribbean and the Pacific with Leo. But most of all, Lue was known and loved for her kindness and generosity. She loved her family and took great care of us up until the point she could no longer do so. She worked for many years as the parish secretary at Our Lady of Guadalupe and volunteered in the cafeteria serving the children of the parish. She and Leo moved to St. Charles in 1996 and became members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish where she quickly became involved there as well, working in the cafeteria and making many friends. She and her sister Irene volunteered together for years at Barnes St. Peters Hospital. Lucille enjoyed socializing and playing cards regularly with several friends and participated often in water aerobics. She now rests peacefully with Leo, her parents and sister. She was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed. A memorial Mass and celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 1 Seton Ct, St Charles, MO 63303, at 10:30 am, followed by an immediate reception in the Church hall.
