Kevin M. MELROY

Melroy, Kevin Michael Kevin passed away Thursday, September 6th, 2024, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Peters after a courageous and hard fight against lung cancer and pneumonia. Kevin was born September 25th, 1958, in Davenport, Iowa, the beloved son of Francis Patrick Melroy and Shirley Ann (Starling) Melroy. He was raised and educated in Davenport. He Married Trudi L. Stanley December 18th, 1992, they moved to St. Peters, Missouri in early 1993. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Trudi Lee (Stanley) Melroy, father-in-law Lt. Col. James R. Stanley, US Army (ret.) and brothers in law Gregory S. Stanley and Jason M. Stanley. Kevin is survived by son Shaemus Colin of St. Peters, daughter Katie Marie Kipper, her husband Daniel Kipper, granddaughter Skylar, grandsons Sebaschyn, Gage and Ayden of Andalusia, Illinois, sister Marcia Hogle of Davenport, Iowa, bother William Melroy of Des Moines, Iowa, first wife and friend Debbie Melroy of Milan Illinois, mother-in-law Mayette Stanley of St. Peters, Missouri. Also, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends in Iowa and Missouri too numerous to list. He will be greatly missed by all who know and love him. Kevin spent his life outdoors, be it working or just enjoying nature and the sunshine. He was fascinated by nature. He spent many hours sitting in a chair with the garage door open to watch a storm form, boil and build. He loved lightning and would have jumped at the chance to sit in a jet plane and fly into the eye of a hurricane, yet he had a great respect for the force of nature. Kevin was inquisitive about many things, an avid reader and watched documentaries, et cetera. He was a major sports fan both college and professional and loved anything Chicago no matter the sport. Kevin was very proud of his Irish heritage so of course his favorite team was the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Kevin was a quiet, kind, gentle man always willing to help if needed. He had a great sense of humor, loved family get togethers and to play cards, especially euchre. Visitation only as per Kevin’s wishes will be Monday, September 16th, 2024, from 5pm until 8pm at Alternative Funeral and Cremation Services, 2115 Parkway Drive, St. Peters, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, Kevin requested donations to Wounded Warriors, St. Jude’s or a charity of your choice.
