Katherine Louise GIGER

Katherine (Katy) Louise Giger, 64, of St. Peters, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2025. Katy was born on September 11, 1961, to Fred and Louise Giger in Hannibal, Missouri. Katy was predeceased by her father, Fred Giger, and her brother, Rick Giger. She is survived by her mother, Louise Giger; her brothers Mike and Mark Giger; and her Daughters Ruth Williams (Husband Josh and son Keagan) and Samantha Sorrells (Husband Billy and Son Teddy). Katy spent her life caring for others. Her favorite jobs were the ones that allowed her to serve others. She worked at a few nursing homes, in the children’s department of multiple churches over the years, as a live-in end-of-life caregiver and companion for a few elderly people in need, and in her final years as a live-in care giver for her mother, Louise. Katy had a gentle spirit. She always extended grace and compassion to others and loved others unconditionally. If any of her friends or family were in need, she would immediately stop what she was doing to go help however she could. She is remembered by her family and friends as caring, fun, and ornery, as she enjoyed teasing people almost as much as she loved caring for them. Katy adored her grandsons, nieces, nephews, and their children. She loved to plan adventures to go on with them and will be remembered by many for the golf cart safaris she would set up in the woods at the Lake of the Ozarks. She loved fishing, staying out late to try and get the most by the end of the yearly family fishing competition. She loved to craft, making many handmade gifts for family members. She also loved to spend time watching movies with and cooking for her loved ones. She enjoyed listening to sermons with her mother, filling pages in many notebooks with sermon notes. She had a beautiful voice and loved singing the harmony parts to hymns in church. She also loved to give gifts and would shop all year long in preparation for Christmas and birthdays. When she found just the right thing, she would be so excited about the gift that she often couldn’t keep it secret. Katy loved Jesus. While her family and friends will miss her loving presence, they take comfort in knowing that they will get to spend eternity with her. A celebration of life service will be held at Harvester Church of the Nazarene in St. Peters Missouri on Monday, January 5th, 2026, at 11:00 am, funeral dinner to follow.
