Johnny Eugene HACHMAN

With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of Johnny Hachman, a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on March 25th, 2024, at the age of 77. Johnny's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his memory will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Henrietta Hachman; in-laws Harry and Verna Hausermann; his sister Carol Coffey; and his grandson Nathan John Mense. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Cynthia; his children, Cheri (Don) Mense, Chris Hachman, Eddie Smith, Christine (Tony) Cook; his grandchildren, Danielle (Josh) Cook, Kelly Mense, Luke Mense, Cody Mense, Jesse Cook, Chase Cook, Ty Cook; his siblings, Buck (Rosie) Hachman, Sondra Dames; brother-in-law Mark (Karen) Hausermann; many nieces and nephews; and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Though Johnny may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will live on through the stories he shared, the lives he touched, and the love he left behind. Born in Belleville, IL in 1947, Johnny was the son of Ralph and Henrietta Hachman. He always loved reminiscing about all the mischief he and his brother Buck had gotten into. They also shared a love for baseball, with Buck as the pitcher and Johnny as the catcher. In 1966, Johnny graduated from Francis Howell before enlisting in the United States Air Force. As an aircraft technician, Johnny's expertise and dedication were instrumental in ensuring the safety and efficiency of countless missions. While in the military, Johnny was deployed to Ohio and then Massachusetts, where he served as a crew chief for four years. After serving his country, Johnny moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he graduated top of his class from Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology. Following school, Johnny accepted a position at General Electric before moving to Kansas City and then Beaumont, Texas. From Texas, Johnny moved to Seattle, Washington, where he became the Pacific Northwest Sales Manager of General Electric. Shortly after, he married his beloved wife of 42 years, Cynthia. Many of their fondest memories together were spent fishing for salmon on the Lewis River in Woodland, Washington. Together, Johnny and Cynthia spent some of the best years of their life in Portland, Oregon, before settling in Missouri. One of Johnny's greatest gifts was his ability to captivate audiences with his storytelling. He had a knack for spinning tales that were equal parts entertaining and enlightening, leaving listeners hanging onto his every word. He truly had a larger-than-life personality and unique ability to make everyone he encountered feel deeply loved and valued. A celebration of Johnny's life will be held on April 10th at Alternative Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00-8:00 pm, where friends and loved ones can gather to honor his memory and share stories of the remarkable man he was. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Johnny's honor. A funeral service will be held the following day, on April 11th, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 1:00 pm. Please join us for a luncheon immediately following the service at First Baptist Church O’Fallon, Missouri. Johnny Hachman will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his country, his love for his family, and his strong faith in God. May he rest in peace, knowing that he was loved deeply and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Though our hearts ache with his absence, we find peace in knowing that he is reunited with our Heavenly Father, and we will see him again in heaven.
