Jeffrey Lynn HOLLENBECK

Jeffrey Lynn Hollenbeck, devoted husband, beloved father, treasured papa, and friend to many departed this life and entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Thursday July 24, 2025. Jeff was born on February 27, 1962 in Decatur, Illinois to Charles and Sandra Hollenbeck. Jeff’s preteen years were spent in Florissant, Missouri and then O’Fallon, Missouri became home where he graduated from Fort Zumwalt High School, having played basketball. Later in Cape Girardeau, he met the love of his life, Kimberly Dawn Elders. Jeff and Kim were married on October 27, 1984. They were blessed with 40 years of a loving and committed marriage. Jeff and Kim’s union was blessed with two daughters, Megan and Karly. Jeff was always the center of his girls’ world being their coach and biggest fan. He was forever rejoicing getting to be a “girl dad” having the best of both worlds! Later, Jeff celebrated the unions of Justin and Megan McClintock as well as Josh and Karly Hughes, acquiring those sons he never had. Jeff was promoted to Papa in 2017 with the birth of Alexander William McClintock. Quickly after, the family continued to grow with the births of Blain Arvid Hughes, Josephine Pearl McClintock, Charlotte Rose Hughes, and Madilynn Kay Hughes. Papa was by far his favorite title, taking his grands to Rural King for snacks before a day of working at the homestead or snuggling on the couch with a book or a movie. Jeff was known to constantly keep up with his favorite sports team, Duke, or anything basketball. He was the unofficial DJ at any gathering, always choosing the best tunes, but knowing when to enjoy the peace of God’s creation. Jeff and Kim loved trips with family and friends to the beach or simple side by side rides to the creek. Their home was a dream come true for Jeff, with land for the kids to run. Jeff was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Harry and Annette Hollenbeck, his maternal grandparents Charles and Doris Hendricks as well as his parents Charles Fredrick Hollenbeck and Sandra Kay Hollenbeck. Jeff leaves behind his loving wife Kimberly (Kim) Hollenbeck, two children Megan (Justin) McClintock, Karly (Josh) Hughes, his five grandchildren Alex, Blain, Josephine, Charlotte, and Madilynn, his three brothers Mitch (Merita) Propp, John (Cheryl) Hollenbeck, and Jim (Karen) Hollenbeck, as well as brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
