Gary Joseph ESCHBACH

Eschbach, Gary J., age 65, passed away on April 8, 2025, in St. Peters, Missouri. Gary is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Helm); her daughter, Lori (Chris) Whitten; five grandchildren, Alana, CJ, Xavier, Layla, Nevayah, one great-grandson, Harvey Whitten, and his extended Helm family. He is also survived by his mother, Rosemary Eschbach, and his brother, Art Eschbach. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Arthur J. Eschbach. A proud retiree of Laclede Gas/Spire, Gary dedicated 28 years of service to the company. He had a strong work ethic in his HVAC career. From an early age, Gary showed a remarkable talent for music. He began playing the drums as a young boy and quickly became known for his skill and rhythm. During his years at Hazelwood Central High School, he played in the marching band, a testament to both his dedication and talent. His passion for music continued beyond school as he played in a band that performed at many St. Louis events. Gary found another outlet for his musical energy by becoming a DJ across the St. Louis area. With an extensive collection of records and CDs, Gary was always ready to bring life to any event. His wide-ranging musical taste and infectious energy made him a favorite among party goers who knew they could count on him to get the celebration started. Gary was equally passionate about the outdoors. From childhood sports and motor cross, to adult adventures on motorcycles and four-wheelers, he embraced life with enthusiasm. Fishing trips brought him peace, but it was bow and rifle hunting that truly captured his heart. One of his proudest moments came when he was featured in an article after harvesting a 20-point buck. He never lost that love for the outdoors. Whether taking the boat out on many lakes throughout the Midwest, or hitching up the trailer for a weekend camping trip, Gary found joy in natures embrace. His loyal Dobermans were often by his side during these excursions and were his faithful companions who shared in many of his outdoor adventures. A Visitation and Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, April 24th, 2025 at All Saints Catholic Church, located at 7 McMenamy Road, Saint Peters, MO 63376. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Mass from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association or a charity of your choice. Gary lives on through the memories he created with those who loved him and the passions he pursued with unwavering spirit. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
