Doyle Vinton ROBINSON

Doyle Vinton Robinson, also known affectionately as Robbie, 82 of Silex, Mo, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday July 15, 2020. Born October 3, 1937 in Live Oak, Florida. Doyle served 7 years in the USAF before moving to Missouri in 1964 and retiring from MEMC (Monsanto) in 1992. Doyle enjoyed his work at MEMC, making many lifelong friends there, while spending his free time fishing, playing baseball and earning his pilots license in order to fly small planes. Doyle lived out his post-retirement years enjoying a morning cup of coffee with his buddies at JR Diamonds, mastering the art of woodworking, traveling, fishing and family time. Doyle will be remembered for his quick wit, one-liners and stories, which were told with enthusiasm and often interrupted by his own laughter. Doyle left a rich legacy of a large family who, because of him, understand the importance of hard work, spending time with loved ones, and making your own way in the world. Often found behind the grill, holding a fishing pole or shotgun, depending on the season, or ‘making sawdust’, Doyle created many beautiful keepsakes that his family treasures in their own homes. Doyle’s presence and contributions to the daily lives of his loved one will be greatly missed. His great love of worn t-shirts, baseball caps and a recent need for suspenders will remain a fond memory for his loved ones, along with the sage wisdom he offered at every opportunity, honed by a life well-lived. Doyle was preceded in death by his wife Mary, of 43 years and two brothers, Ladson and Daro Robinson of Live Oak, Florida. Doyle is survived by his wife Carline Collier-Robinson of 18 years and daughter, Becky Robinson-Florian (Matthew) of Silex, Mo, and 3 step-children, Terrie Collier-Boyet (Ed), Becky Collier-Stump (Matt), Tim Collier (Lee) of Foristell, Mo, along with 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Doyle will be honored on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Journey Church in Troy, Mo at 366 South Lincoln Drive; Visitation is from 2-4pm. Grave-side service will be held in Live Oak, Florida at Orange Baptist Cemetery on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Arbors for Activities at Sugar Creek and the Arbors Assisted Living in Troy, Mo in honor or Mr. Ron Wallace., best friend of Doyle of over 60 years.
