In Loving Memory of Brian Scott Sherod April 10, 1966 – March 1, 2025 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear son and brother, Brian Scott Sherod, on March 1, 2025. He was born April 10,1966 in St. Louis, Missouri, and lived a life of love among his family and friends. Early Life Brian was born St. Luke’s Hospital to his parents, Glenn L. and Mary D. (Donnelly) Sherod. Growing up, Brian displayed a love for The St. Louis Cardinal Baseball and St. Louis Blues Hockey which would become his lifelong passions. He achieved the level of Eagle Scout after his years in Boy Scouting. Brian was also an excellent swimmer, bowler and bicyclist. Brian served as a reliable and committed acolyte at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Overland, MO as a young man. He also enjoyed being a good member of the Men’s Club. Career and Achievements Despite his intellectual disability, Brian did very well in school at the Special School District in St. Louis County, and learned to read, do arithmetic problems, and write. As a young man Brian wrote his own life story. He lived in the St. Ann and Overland, MO areas before moving to Beverly Farm in Godfrey, Illinois in 1993. Family and Personal Life Brian was a beloved son of his father Glenn and his stepmother, Karen Sherod, and he loved spending time with his family especially his siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Sherod, his uncle, Ray Sherod and aunt, Marty Sherod and his cousin, Joshua Miller. Brian is survived by his siblings: Glenn A. Sherod (Doris), Stan Sherod (Susan), and Carol O’Toole (Tim). His nieces and nephews: Denise Robinson (Wayne), Theresa Kemp (Chris). Melissa Hill, Zoey Sherod, Spencer Sherod (Linda), Shelby Sherod, Seaver Sherod (Jade), Joshua Frazier, Timothy O’Toole, and Kelly O’Toole. His great nieces and great nephews: Krista Miller, Brett Golden, Ty Golden, Layla Hill, James Hill, Isabell Hill, Zayden Gant, Rasmus Sherod, and Bella Frazier. Cousins: Kathlene Bextemueller, Daniel Sherod, Jason Miller, and John Miller. Brian touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Services A private Celebration of life will be held in a few weeks at a place and time to be determined. Internment will be at Valhalla in St. Louis, MO on a future date.
