Samuel H. Moore Sam of Hawk Point, Missouri passed away at his home on September 30th 2019. Sam was born in Huntsville, Missouri on December 22, 1932 to Samuel L. and Opal Belle Moore. In 1955, Sam was drafted into the United States Army. By 1956 he was stationed in Germany. He met his future wife, Heidi Moore in 1957 and they married June 1959. Sam made the United states army his first career, as Sgt. E7 and retired in November 1975. They moved to Hawk Point and he worked for his brother in law at Stuck Construction. Around 1980 he started driving over the road big rigs. Sam was a lifetime charter member of the Hawk Point VFW post 7560. He served in several positions, including post commander. He was also the director over Bingo. Sam loved rebuilding vehicles in his spare time. He loved having family around. He was a jokester and had a comical outlook on life. Ornery old fart loved by many. Last of the Mohicans. Proceeded in death by his parents, Sam and Opal Moore. His first son Samuel L. Moore and grandson Mark A. Moore. He is also proceeded in death by a brother Russell; sisters Marjie Shorts, Bonnie Hughes, Joyce Stuck, Ruby Derboven and Jane Fields. Sam is survived by his loving wife, Heidi Moore. Sam also leaves behind his children, Sharon (Carl) Crawford of Wentzville, Elizabeth Ann Moore of O’Fallon, Schatzie (Bob) Eveland of Hawk Point and Fred Moore (Crystal Walker) of Hawk Point. Sam has eight grandchildren, Stephanie Schultz (Doug Rothberg) of Fenton. Tara Rokovan of O’Fallon, Michelle Figge of Texas, Sam Shedd of Eminence, Rachel (Dale) Kerpash of Millwood, Brian Eveland (Alicia Jones) of Hawk Point, Denver (Lauren) Moore of Wentzville and Jessica Moore (Mark Siegler) of Hawk Point. Twelve great grandchildren, Cody (Hayleigh) Schultz, Connor Schultz, Dylan (Kayla) Figge, Tanner Figge, Logan Figge, Heidi Moore, Mackinzie Monroe, Adeline Shedd, Noah Moore, Lille Jernigan, Ezra Moore, and Honorary great granddaughter Angel. One great-great granddaughter Nova Rose. And too many family and friends to mention. There will be a memorial service held at the Hawk Point VFW post 7560, 106 Hwy A, Hawk Point, MO 63349, on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 2pm.
