December 29, 1959 - April 19, 2021
Randy L. Slatten, 61 passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 at his home in St. Peters, Missouri and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Born to Robert Jack and Helen Mae Slatten on December 29, 1959 in Washington, Missouri. Randy graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School in 1978. He recently celebrated 42 years of loyal service with Beltservice Corporation as a scheduling specialist in Earth City, Missouri always showing up early and taking extreme pride in his work. Randy did not care about material things, lived for relationships with his friends and family and would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. He loved the Cardinals, Blues, fishing, golfing, scratch-off tickets, going to the boat or “church” as he called it and watching the “Food Channel.” Cooking was his passion and with every cooking appliance ever sold, loved sharing his famous concoctions. Randy is survived by five siblings, Brad Slatten (Cindy) of Bucyrus, KS, Susie Bruemmer (Mike) of Fulton, MO, Robin Helmka (Steve) of Lake Ozark, MO, Kelly Slatten of Columbia, MO and Jill Templeton (John) of Columbia, MO; ten nieces and nephews Eric Slatten (Angela), Brooke (Joe) Balestrieri; Nick (Christina) Niedergerke, Blake (Rhiannon) Niedergerke, Lindsay (Josh) Tegtmeier, Allison Lamb, Alex Gage, Sam (Gavin) Gage Bryan, Bailey Templeton and Luke Templeton and nine great nieces and nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Helen Slatten, grandparents Elmer and Teckla Ridder and Wallace and Lida Slatten. We will honor Randy, a/k/a “The Life of the Party”, with a “Celebration of Life” on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Dry Dock Bar and Grill in Montgomery City, from 2pm - 6pm, with his favorite toast about lying, cheating and stealing. If you’re gonna lie…lie for a friend…If you’re gonna cheat…cheat death…If you’re gonna steal…steal a heart…If you’re gonna drink…drink with friends like these.
