Paul GROSS Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Paul Gross Jr., 74, fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022. Paul was the beloved son of the late Paul Gross Sr. and the late Elizabeth Gross, nee Eck; dear brother of the late Maria Csik and brother-in-law of the late Anton Csik; dear uncle of the late Tony (Mary), Stefan (Karen), Iris (Chris), John (Helen) Csik; loving great-uncle of Stacey (Arthur) Williams, Allison (Travis) Greenwood, Emily Csik, and Daniel Csik; proud great-great uncle of AJ and Anthony Williams, and Eleanor Greenwood; a cousin to many (some in the U.S. and some in Europe); a cherished friend to many; and will be missed by all. Paul was a rock and mineral enthusiast, and an active member and past President of the St. Louis Mineral and Gem Society. Anyone who encountered Paul, even a casual acquaintance, was likely to be gifted with a rock or mineral. May the rocks and minerals in your possession serve as lovely reminders of him. Paul was a dog lover, enjoying life’s journey first with Schwartzie and then with Rocky, and was deliberate about adopting rescued dogs. Paul was an avid bowler, and for much of his life participated in league bowling. Paul was an excellent cook. Paul was also a lifelong person of faith and a devout Catholic, always active at his long-time parish church, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. Paul requested to be cremated. His ashes will be buried at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 10180 Gravois Road, Affton, MO 63123. Due to the current state of the Covid pandemic, a Memorial Mass, with visitation at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church preceding the Mass, will be delayed until such time that it is deemed safer to gather. Notification will be provided once the Memorial Service can be safely scheduled, and at that time, those who have known and cherished Paul, will assemble to share memories and celebrate his life.
