Mary A. RUEGG

July 14, 1946 - March 14, 2022

Mary A. Ruegg Mary A. Ruegg, of Foley, MO, passed on March 14,2022 at BJC Hospital in St. Peters, MO, at the age of 75 years. Mary was born July 14,1946 in St. Louis, MO, to Vester and Mamie Weathers. She was united in marriage to Ferd Ruegg, Jr. on July 16th,1973 at the Winfield Baptist Church. Ferd survives and misses her daily. Also surviving is her sister Carrie (Ron) Horst of Troy; her children John (Patty) of Troy; Vester of Troy; Shawna (Tom) Stolze of O’Fallon; Dean (Judith) of Troy; Ann (Bob) Gonia of Troy; and Robin of Moscow Mills; 14 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, and 2 great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother and sister-in-law Alvert and Marge; son Ferd III; and daughter-in-law Mendy. Mary worked for many years at the GM plant in St. Louis and at Lear Chrysler and Lear Ford in Bridgeton and was a UAW member. She was also a member of the VFW through her father Vester. Mary enjoyed horseback riding, and more recently knitting and quilting. She would love to go to the knitting club with her grandson, and she made gifts for family members that were always well made and appreciated because they were made with love. Mary fought a very valiant fight in her last years, as anyone could see, however she never let her illness define her. She was without question an incredibly strong person for anyone in her family or friends to go to when they needed someone. Right alongside of Mary for all these years has been Ferd, who has been more than her husband, companion, and in the past several years, caretaker. He, along with her family and friends, will continue to miss her, but they know she is in a better place and is no longer in pain. A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, July 16,2022 per Mary’s wishes, it will be held at Cuivre River State Park at the Stone Shelter, from 8:00 am - 10:00 am.
