Kenneth Edward CORNELL III Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Kenneth (Ken) Edward Cornell III, 77, of Troy, MO passed away on July 17th, 2022. Ken was born in Des Moines, IA on October 25, 1944 to Kenneth and Merleen Cornell. He is survived by his two children, Jennifer (Kevin) Conner, Troy, MO, and Nathan (Mandy) Cornell, Kearney, MO, five grandchildren: Max, Lauren, Blake, Ashlyn, and Breck, and sisters, Beth Pickard (Peter), Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lynn Cornell, Anna Pearson, Lee’s Summit. Following graduation from Wichita South High School in 1963, Ken enlisted and served in the Navy aboard the USS Radford until 1969. He worked for 40 years as a cable splicer for Southwestern Bell bringing, as he put it, “dial tone to the masses”. Ken was a private person with a kind, gentle, generous personality. He had an incredible sense of humor and love for his family. He enjoyed movies, tornadoes, tv sitcoms, cars, and sweets. Ken had a passion for pizza and at one time was the number one customer for delivery at his local Pizza Hut. The family would like to thank the staff at Sugar Creek Assisted Living for all their love and care over the past year. He considered this home and the staff family. A private service and celebration of life is planned for a later date.
