Joseph Edward STRANGE

Joseph Edward Strange of St. Charles, MO passed away at the age of 68 on 4/18/22. Joe was born to Harry and Virginia Strange of Pine Lawn, MO on 7/19/53. He had five siblings in total, including three brothers and two sisters – Jim, Judy, Jerry, Jack and JoAnne. Growing up in an athletic and competitive family, Joe excelled at many sports and activities as a child. He was well known as a fierce competitor on the ballfield and made several newspaper articles for his talents as a pitcher and hitter on the diamond. Joe attended Normandy High School in St. Louis, MO. Post-high school, Joe worked for the Post-Dispatch as a press operator. He wed Victoria (Davidson) Strange and together they had three children – Jeff Strange b. 1979 (wife Kim), David Strange b. 1982, and Caitlyn Strange-Hendricks b. 1984. He has also had three grandchildren – Aroa and Annaliese Strange (Jeff and Kim Strange) and Miles Hendricks (Caitlyn Strange-Hendricks). He had many nieces, nephews and friends that shared many great memories of him. Later in life, he was joined in companionship with Carol Rhoades of St. Peters, MO along with her children Craig, Ed, Jeff and Lori and grandkids Eddie, Gwen, Madison and Caleb. Always competitive and quick witted with a keen intelligence, he enjoyed playing Jeopardy (and usually won), was well versed in music and movies and had an epic sense of humor that could bring a smile to anyone’s face. He was passionate about sports and even as he grew older, he could hit the tar out of the ball – he drew awe with his hitting prowess. Joe also volunteered as a baseball and soccer coach for youth teams throughout the St. Louis area. Joe will be missed by his family and friends.
