Joan Kay WAMPLER Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Joan Kay Wampler, age 71, of O’Fallon MO, entered eternal rest on January 15, 2022 surrounded by her loving husband and children. She was born on September 17, 1950 in St. Louis MO, to Rollie (True) and Hazel Morris. Joan graduated from Orchard Farm High School in 1968 and went on to marry her high school sweetheart Ron Wampler on January 6, 1973. Together they had three children: Kelly, Shaun, and Cassie. Joan was a home maker who devoted her whole life to her children. She was extremely family oriented and absolutely adored spending time with her grandkids. Other hobbies she enjoyed were gambling at the casino, hanging out with her niece Lynn, and going out to dinner. Joan had a heart of gold and was always willing to help others. She was a great listener and never failed to cheer others up with her witty sense of humor. Joan fought a courageous battle against a rare auto immune disease, as well as both bladder and breast cancer, all in true warrior fashion. Her will and determination to fight is nothing short of admirable. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Joan is survived by her husband Ron Wampler, son Shaun (Melissa) Wampler, daughter Cassie (Josh) Fancher, sister Marilyn (Robert) Walker and seven grandchildren: Kaylee Steffen, Jake Steffen, Adalyn Wampler, Savannah Steffen, Ruby Wampler, Elliott Fancher and Merrick Fancher. Joan was preceded in death by her parents Rollie (True) and Hazel Morris, daughter Kelly (James) Steffen, sister Delores Guinn, brother Donald Morris, and sister Shirley (Cliff) Oliver. There will be a Celebration of Life at Alternative Funeral & Cremation Services on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 7:00 PM.
