James Arthur PANHORST
December 1, 1939 - November 26, 2020
James A. Panhorst (Jim), 80 years old, went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2020. Jim was a strong patriarch of his family and a godly, good friend to all. Jim was born on December 1, 1939 and was raised by his parents, Erwin and Florence Panhorst. In the summer of 1975 Jim met his beloved wife Fayree (Jeannie) Colbert, that same year they were married and spent 45 wonderful years together. They were blessed with two children: Jeremiah and Jason. Jim was a sweet and loving husband, father and grandfather. He had one real passion in life, and that was to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. This was reflected in all the books he wrote, especially in his life story, Lucky to be Alive. He was passionately involved with Camp Penuel, a ministry in Ironton, Missouri that brings joy, hope and fulfillment of knowing the love of Jesus to under privileged and at-risk children. Jim embodied the fruits of the spirit love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Jim had designed a flag that was inspired by a dream he had, that said, God is Our Hope, because this is true, is why he was not afraid of death. Jim had perfect peace and will be deeply missed by those who love him, but those of us that put our trust in Jesus Christ our savior, will see him again. Jim was survived by his wife, Jeannie; his son Jeremiah and wife Rachel, his son Jason and wife Ashley; grandchildren, Elizabeth and husband Patrick, Kristen and husband Matt, James, Christopher, Christian and Shylah; brothers Kenny and wife Trudy, John and wife Loretta and sisters, Patricia and Debbie.
