James William Hilker, 82, of St. Charles, MO., died Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Barnes Hospital in St. Peters, MO. He was born on May 08, 1937 in St. Louis, MO. The son of William and Dolores Hilker. Jim served 5 years in the United States Marine Corp Reserves, his rank was PFC. He retired from a career in Civil Engineering. After retirement he volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital and Community Living Incorporated. He was a founding member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, a member of St. Robert's Men's Club and a weekly usher at mass. Jim enjoyed being with his family, traveling, sitting on the front porch visiting with neighbors and the St. Louis Cardinals. Loving husband of Barbara Hilker. Loving father and father-in-law of Julie (Dan) Dozier, Scott (Janet) Hilker and John (Stacey) Hilker. Loving brother of Jeanette Rosenkoetter, William Hilker Jr., Beverly Simpkins, Kenneth Hilker and Carole Walters. Loving grandfather Joe, Chip, Katie, Robbie, Stephanie, Blake and Sydney. James was preceded in death by his loving parents, William and Dolores and his beloved grandson David James “DJ” Dozier. Jim donated his body to his alma mater, St. Louis University Medical school. Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 11 am at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church with a celebration of life luncheon to follow.
