Grace Frances KUEHLER

Grace Kuehler, a life-long resident of St. Charles, passed away at her home on November, 10th, 2018. She was surrounded by her family. Grace was 92 years old and the daughter of the late Harry Joseph and Theresa Vienna Ohrman (nee Darling). “Gracie” as she was lovingly referred to by family and friends, married Joseph Francis Kuehler on September 18, 1947. In addition to being a mother of six children, she took on a full-time career in public service working in various capacities for the St. Charles County government for over twenty-five years. After retirement, “Gracie” volunteered at St. Charles Tourism—giving visitors insight, local history and an appreciation of the town she loved. She had a passion for family, sports, and her vacation home at the Lake of the Ozarks. Nothing made her happier than hosting and feeding family, friends, and the Red Hat Ladies. Both Grace and Joe were two parents who loved all sports and found the time to attend all of the games six children could throw at them. After Joe’s death, Grace continued to go to games by herself, still cheering on her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her favorite girls’ softball team at McNair Park. “Gracie” was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, her parents Harry and Theresa, and her brothers Joe and Jim Ohrman. She was the loving mother and mother in law of Danny and Peggy Kuehler, Patti and Dale Hemsath, DeDe and Mike French, Peggy and Russ Klicker, Bonnie Getzinger, and Chris and Scott Shipman. Loving sister of Gerty Meyer, Jeneanne Niggemeier and Bob Ohrman. Her six children, fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren want “Gracie” to know how much they appreciate her love, kindness, wisdom and guidance. They look forward to carrying on her wonderful family traditions and hope that they can bring the same joy to others that she brought to all of her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may contribute to the Boone Workshop Center in honor of Grace’s brother James Ohrman, “Buddy Boy”. The children of Grace Kuehler invite our extended family and friends to a celebration of life for our mom. Mass will be Friday, 11/23, at 11am at St. Cletus Parish in St. Charles. There will be a luncheon and receiving line immediately following at the Knights of Columbus hall --20 Westbury Drive in St. Charles.
