Edmond Louis DEUSER Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Edmond Louis Deuser Jr, a veteran of the Vietnam era and longtime resident of St. Charles, passed away on June 23, 2022 surrounded by family. Ed, as he was known to many in the area, was born May 18, 1952 to Edmond and Viola (Kneezle) Deuser and attended school in Belridge before being enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 14. As a private, first class for the Army, Ed served abroad in Germany, and he had amazing stories of his time there training dogs (Doberman and German Shepherds) for Vietnam. The U.S. Army recognized Ed for his honorable service with a National Defense service medal, specifically for his service guarding the Berlin wall and other defense locations. Ed didn't speak much about those moments or about his time in the Army, but he did proudly march in parades with other veterans and on most Sundays, he could be found at the Amvets with his family playing gin, turkey shoots or billiards. After his service, Ed returned home and married Cathy Mitts on April 15, 1972 and built a beautiful and loving family with two daughters and one son and celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary this year. He worked and retired as a laborer for the Labor Local 660 after 40 years with many specialties. For those that were fortunate to meet Ed, immediately one could recognize his quick wit, his willingness to help and protect anyone and his unconditional love of his family and friends. Ed was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Deuser and father, Edmond Louis Deuser and sister Paula Regot. He's survived by his wife Cathy Deuser, daughter Louisa Deuser, daughter Jeanna Deuser and spouse Roy Blair, and son Edmond L. Deuser III and spouse Kristi Deuser as well as six grandchildren (Kyle Deuser, Amarri Blair, Kayla Deuser, Anna Deuser, Ashlyn Deuser and Isabelle Deuser) and his siblings Beverly Bridger, Valerie Piening, Janis Key, Donna Lyons and Greg Deuser. His family has organized a memorial service to honor Ed's life and military service, which will be held at Alternative Funeral and Cremation Services on July 15, 2022 at 9:30 am. In addition to the funeral services the family is hosting a separate celebration of life event to be held at VFW Post 2866 in St. Charles, MO on July 24, 2022 at 1:00pm. There will be a Memorial Visitation at Alternative Funeral & Cremation Services on Friday, July 15, 2022 from 9:30 - 11:30 AM, with a Service at 11:30 AM. Immediately following will be a procession to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for a Graveside Service with Military Honors.
