January 4, 1933 - April 3, 2020
Betty Lee Clark, 87, passed away April 3rd, 2020 at her home in St Charles, Mo. after a long battle with dementia. Betty was born on January 4th, 1933 in El Reno, Oklahoma to James and Jewel Cronk. She was the eldest of three children, her brother James and her sister Rose passed away many years ago. Betty spent most of her life as homemaker and military spouse to her husband, Donald R. Clark who served in Navy for 28 years. They moved frequently mostly between Jacksonville, Florida and the San Diego area in California. They spent 3 ½ years in Iceland with their two youngest children back in the 70’s. Betty adapted easily never failed to make friends everywhere they went. She was quick with a smile and would always get involved in the community and with fundraisers. Don became a Mason, so she joined Eastern Star and White Shrine as well as the American Legion and VFW. In Betty’s younger years she worked at Martin Door and the St Louis Blood bank. Betty loved crafts, cooking and quilting. She knew how to make custom cakes and even made a small business from it. Betty loved animals of every kind. Even the neighbor’s dogs would find their way to her house on a regular basis to get her attention. Betty could be found most nice days out working in her garden. She was very knowledgeable about different types of plants and horticulture in general. Betty’s love of her life, Don passed away 30 years ago. She never remarried. She helped raise her grandsons and was an integral centerpiece to our family. She had an innate sense of humor and always had a can-do attitude. Her grandchildren are Nathan Green, Zach Barnes, Brendan Warner, Becky Welch, Karen Czigan and Kristina Hillyard. Betty also has several great-grandchildren.
