Stefanie Leigh WHEELER

Stefanie Leigh Wheeler (38) of O’Fallon, MO, passed away peacefully at home on June 6, 2023, with her beloved family and friends by her side. After a tough battle with ovarian cancer, she received the ultimate healing and went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Born March 9th, 1985, to James Phillips and Rebecca Kuhn in Danville, IL. Stefanie lived most of her adolescent life in Lansing, MI before moving to St. Peters, MO during her high school years. She met her future husband Ryan Wheeler in the fall of 2001. After 7 years of dating and buying their first home in Dardenne Prairie, MO the couple was married on April 12, 2008. Shortly after Stefanie graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and worked for 10+ years at Dale Carnegie, last serving as the Director of Accreditation. The couple welcomed their first child Emma in October of 2010 and completed their family 2 years later with the birth of their son Wyatt in June of 2012. Stefanie’s greatest joy in life was being a loving mother and wife. She was one of the absolute best (#Elite). She loved Emma and Wyatt deeply and protected them with every fiber of her being. Stefanie was the school room mom, the dugout mom, the team photographer, the party planner and the crafter. The kids and students admired her, and the teachers and coaches adored her. Stefanie and Ryan have been together for 21 years, married for 15 of them. Ryan was Stefanie’s rock, and his personality perfectly complemented Stef’s. They lived in O’Fallon, Mo with their two children Emma Wheeler (12) and Wyatt Wheeler (11), and their dog Ozzie. Stefanie is survived by her husband Ryan Wheeler, children Emma Wheeler and Wyatt Wheeler, her father James Phillips and mother Rebecca Kuhn, her siblings Amanda Phillips, Larry Phillips, Santino Phillips, Jiezel Phillips, Jill Poggendorf, Jolina Kuhn, Blake Kuhn, Catalina Kuhn, Joe Erkhe, and Andrew Simmons. She is also loved and remembered by her father and mother by marriage Rick and Debbie Wheeler, brother and sisters by marriage Greg and Michelle Rhode and Cassidy Phillips, and other aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, nieces, nephew and other family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life, which will be held at O’Fallon Christian Church on July 15th from 2:00-3:30, with a gathering in the church gym after the celebration. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to O’Fallon Christian Church where Stefanie and Ryan have been members for more than 15 years.
