Sally Anne Ackerman

Sally A. Ackerman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—affectionately known as "Gigi"—passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to her family. Born to Robert and Sylvia Eaves on March 30th, 1945, in Galesburg IL, Sally grew up in a bustling household surrounded by her siblings: Charlotte, Bob, Kaye, Dee, Howard, Don, Dotti, Mary, Laura, and Sam. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ron, her granddaughter Ashlee Marie, her sisters Charlotte and Kaye, and her brother Don. Sally married the love of her life, Ron, on April 7, 1974, in Galesburg, Illinois, and together they built a beautiful life filled with family and lasting memories. Their bond remained strong until Ron’s passing on December 5, 2017. She is survived by her children: son Corri Ackerman and his wife Suzanne of La Vernia, TX, and daughter Carra Stinnett of St. Peters, MO. Sally took immense pride in her family, cherishing every moment spent as grandma to her grandchildren and "Gigi" to her great-grandchildren. Sally's love and guidance touched three generations. She is remembered fondly by her grandchildren—Carra's two sons, and Corri's two sons and two daughters. Her joy only grew with the arrival of her great-grandchildren: four great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons through Carra, and one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter through Corri. Sally’s legacy is one of unwavering love, deep family roots, and a warm heart that welcomed everyone as her own. She will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, her strength, and the joy she brought to those fortunate enough to know her. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved Ron, granddaughter Ashlee Marie, and other cherished family members who went before her. Sally's memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and love shared by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held in Galesburg, IL on October 18 from 11am - 2pm.
