Joseph G Rubano Jr. was born in Knob Noster, Missouri on September 10, 1964, to Joseph and Faye Rubano. Joseph is survived by his loving sister Rose, surrogate father William H Thompson, best-friend and ex-partner John M Berry, his dear friend Joanie Stark, step-grandparents Bob and Blanche Goebel and surrogate “mom” Sue McCoy. Joseph resided in the St. Louis area for most of his life growing up in O’Fallon MO, later owning a home in the Lafayette Square area of St. Louis, finally ending up in Maplewood MO, where he enjoyed the community and proximity to Downtown St. Louis and his friend Joanie Stark. Joseph had an extremely successful career in the 1990’s and early 2000’s as a Health Insurance Sale Rep and later a District Sales Manager for UGA/NASE achieving the “Million Dollar Ring” for over a million dollars in insurance sales. Joseph was also a gentle and loving care giver for Adele Thompson. I met Joseph “Joey” in August of 1990. It was an interesting encounter, during an evening together he received a call from a friend in distress and he immediately jumped up and ran to his rescue. It caught me off guard as I had not seen that type of passion and care for a friend before but that was the type of Man Joe was, he loved his friends and would drop everything to help them at a moment’s notice. Three and a half years later in January of 1994 Joe and I met again and became partners for nearly 6 and half years before life’s challenges would separate us. However, Joe remained a major part of my family over the next 12 years. While I had moved to Chicago and I was not able to assist my family during my uncle Dan’s battle with cancer, Joe stepped up to the plate and on many occasions drove my uncle to the Chemo treatments ensuring he was comfortable and loved. Which my family and I will forever be grateful. Joe loved electronic gadgets, antiques, special little boxes(ceramic, wooden, glass, or crystal), and Lincoln Town Car’s especially his 2003 Cartier version. “Joey” also had nicknames for everyone, mine was either “Johnny or Jug Head”, William Thompson was “Billie Bisquilly”, and his sister Rose was “Rosie Composie”. Joe was truly a kid at heart, life of the party, and sometimes a jokester. Joe was also the original creator of L.O.L. before there was “myspace” or “facebook” but the actual meaning was Lots Of Love circa 1996. Joe may have lost the battle but he has not lost the love of his friends and family. I already miss the sometimes 5 to 10 phone calls a day that used to drive me crazy. Survived by his sisters and brothers, Rosemarie & Rhiannon Rubano. Stephanie & Stephan Albert. Charles, Paulette, Teresa & Lanette Wiedner. His beloved grandmother Rose Rubano of Brooklyn, New York and Step-Grandparents, Bob & Blanche Goebel of Dallas Texas. A cousin Tino Rubano of California and many nieces and nephews. Also Survived our his friends, John M. Berry, William H. Thompson & Sue McCoy Memorial Service will be Saturday, October 20th at 10 A.M at St. Vincent De Paul Parish located at 1408 S 10th Street, St. Louis Mo 63104.
