Robert "Bob" Lee WHEELER

Robert “Bob” Lee Wheeler, of Saint Louis, MO died on May 20, 2020 at the age of 84. He was born December 24, 1935 in Saint Louis, Missouri to William (Bill) and Jessie Wheeler. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Wheeler; loving children, Bobby, Jerome, Janet and her husband Jim, Mary Ann and Michelle; cherished grandfather of Catrisse, Crystal and her husband Micky, Aaron, Brittney and her husband Trevon, Jessie, Melissa and her husband Mike, Gregory, Tricia, Abby and Amanda, Candice and her husband Josh, Amber and Steven; treasured great-grandfather of Faith, Christian, Alexyus, Michael, Andrew, Raelyn, Gavin, Brenden, Kaylee, Brooke, Ava, Justin, Mikalya, Mikenna and Mikey, Grayson, Bella and Jude. Bob is truly loved and will be greatly missed by a host of other family members and friends as well. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, William (Bill) and Jessie Wheeler; siblings, Kathleen, Pauline, Hazel, Margie, Jim and W.T., daughter Charise and grandson, Robby. He was known as the “Legend” at the AA Hampton Facility where he volunteered in helping others for over 50 years. Bob was an electrician by trade and retired from IBEW LOCAL 1 in 1995. He also served on the U.S.S. Saratoga from 1955 until his Honorable Discharge in 1961. The legacy which Bob leaves behind is his love for Jesus Christ, his deep commitment to his family and those whose lives he touched. In Lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or online at www.alz.org in honor of Bob. Due to Covid-19, a private Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Have Bible Will Travel located at 1745 Craig Rd in Saint Louis, MO 63146 from 1:00pm-3:00pm. However, the family encourages a ‘drive-thru parade’ for those who would like to pay tribute to Bob. You’re welcome to drive through the church’s parking lot to release balloons, honk your horn, or hand off a bereavement card to one of the parking lot attendants. Feel free to drive through anytime between 1-2:30p. And lastly, Bob would want you to know that the most important thing in life is your relationship with Jesus Christ. If you don’t know Him, today is be a great day to meet Him!
