Richard "Rick" R. COLLAZO

Richard "Rick" R. Collazo, 43, died on June 1, 2023, at 6:15 pm in Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St Louis, MO. Rick was born September 15, 1979, in Grand Rapids, MI. He was born to Darla Navarro. Rick attended school in Hastings, MI, before moving to IL, where he graduated. He lived in Quincy, IL, with his wife Melissa Muder, whom he married May 21, 2016, and his two children; Lake Robert Collazo (4 years old) and Timber Grace Collazo (1 year old). He worked 23 years at General Mills Hannibal Plant where he manufactured Progresso Soup. His biggest passion was collecting, restoring, and selling comic books. He would also spend hours on yahoo just reading and reading and reading...he made a GREAT trivia player. Rick also enjoyed photography, he always took his camera and selfie stick with him on every trip. Drawing was another pass time that Rick enjoyed. He was also a HUGE fan of ANY sports team from Michigan! In warmer weather, he and his son would go geocaching around Quincy, which his son referred to as "treasure hunting". Most of all Rick loved and cherished his family and friends. Rick's greatest achievements were being a SUPER friend, a SUPER husband, and a SUPER Dad. He shared his love of comic books with his son, whose favorite comic book character is Jack Russell. Rick also loved his daughter and enjoyed cuddling with her on the couch and sitting on the ground with her, allowing her to climb all over him. His children were his world, he spent his last hours making them paintings and bears with his heartbeat for them to treasure forever. Rick is survived by his wife and their two children. His parents, Rich, and Darla Navarro. Siblings include Michael (Melissa) Cline, Daxton Navarro, Michelle Navarro, Christopher Navarro, Samantha Navarro, Allison (Bert) O'Brien and Emily Spencer (Melshunn Everette). Father-in-law Aaron Muder, mother-in-law Linda Muder, sister-in-law Nikki (Andy) Skirvin and brother in law Austin Muder. He also leaves behind multiple aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. His best (lifelong) friends Skylar, Lauren and Angela continue to reside in Michigan. He was preceded into death by his grandparents and other family. A Celebration of Life will be held June 27, 2023, from 3:00pm-7:00pm at The Crossing, 150 South 48th (Maine) Street, Quincy, IL. Casual dress.
