Richard W. Ivy Feb 1, 1962 – Nov 27, 2022 Rick was invited home to be with our Dear Lord Jesus on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at the age of 60. Beloved and devoted husband to Christina (Tina) Ivy (Krebs). Loving father of Lyle Patrick Ivy, Nicole Ivy (fiancée Jonathan Dodds) and Tabitha Schulz-Long (Monique Long). Loving son to Beverly (Rich) Crain, brother to Vicky (Chris) Lederman. Uncle to Nick Kreitler and Haley (Dustin) Potts, along with great uncle to Gavin Potts. Rick was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Josephine Dodds and father, Wayne Ivy. Born in St. Louis, Missouri to Beverly (Rich) Crain and Wayne Ivy. Rick graduated from Roosevelt High School and immediately joined the United States Army where he served his country proudly as a Military Police K-9 Handler, while stationed throughout the United States and Europe. After honorably completing his service with the Army, Rick joined the Police Force in Augusta, GA. His true passion and purpose in life, however, was to assist veterans, which he did for many years with the Department of Veterans Affairs, advocating on behalf of the veteran. Not only did he professionally help thousands of vets, he developed deep personal relationships with many of them. Without hesitation, Rick would go above and beyond with his time and talent to assist his fellow veteran. Rick did not know a stranger and could talk for hours about his time in the service, working on the police force, and his love for his fellow veterans. His family was extremely proud of this trait and will treasure his strength. Rick had a passion for travel, living throughout the United States and abroad. He and his wife recently moved to Florida to enjoy their last years enjoying life outside in the sun year-round, where he developed strong relationships with his new found Florida family/friends. He always cherished family and friends throughout his life, and had a heart of gold to all. Visitation and Burial: Visitation: Monday, December 5, 2022 at Alternative Funeral & Cremation Service, 2115 Parkway Drive, St. Peters, MO 63376 from 3pm – 7pm followed by service at 7pm. Burial with military honors: December 8, 2022 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125 at 10am.
