Richard (Dick) Barth SEGER

Richard (Dick) Barth Seger, age 84, of St. Charles, Missouri died Wednesday October 8, 2015 at Barnes St. Peters in St. Peters, Missouri. He was born Sunday August 2, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Horce and Evelyn Ryan Seger. Dick serviced in the United States Army for one year, one month and eleven days. Then on to the United States Army Reserve five years. While in the military he learned photography and for the rest of his life he was always taking pictures. He was a man of many talents. He was a police officer for the St. Louis County Police Department and then went into the detective bureau and was the photographer for the department. He went on and worked for Ford Motor Company before opening his own business. He owned the Texaco station at Northland shopping center in St. Louis Missouri, then opened one on Chambers Road. Most will remember him with the vintage red fire truck that he used in parades. His children and grandchildren loved being in the parades with him. He then went on to open a break shop in Jennings Missouri called the Stop Shop. He enjoyed working on cars. After the service stations he then went in to catering and opened a banquet hall where he enjoyed preparing the meals. As he got older he wanted to try something else so he went into home remolding. Dear father and father-in-law of Deborah Colburn, Karen and Bob Lonning, Richard Seger II, Greg and Michelle Seger, Jeff Seger, Patti Seger and Michael and Michelle Seger all of St. Charles County. Dear grand-father sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren with two on the way and four great great-grand children. Dear brother of Gerald (Jerry) Seger and Arthur (Art) Seger. Dear uncle too many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother James Seger and sister Patricia Helvenston. Memorial visitation will be Wednesday October 14, 2015 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm with a memorial service at 7:00pm. Graveside service will be held Thursday October 15, at 11:30 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. The family will have a time of sharing stories at Silver Springs Park just outside of Jefferson Barracks if anyone would like to pack a picnic and join them.
