In loving Memory Ronald Oscar Plante March 27, 1945 - March 9, 2009 It is with much sadness that we pass along news of the passing Ron Plante he is dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Ron passed away suddenly on Monday March 9th 2009. Ron had been dealing with a heart condition since 2002 and just recently spent an evening in the hospital. After that short stay he was released and follow up appointments with his general practitioner and cardiologist showed no additional concerns. On Monday however, he passed suddenly and peacefully at home where he was discovered by his wife of 44 years, Eileen. Among others near and dear to him, Ron leaves behind his wife Eileen, two children Jody and Jay, and their spouses Colleen and Erica respectively, and one grandson Timothy Andrew whom he would regularly tell, “I love you bigger than the Moon” and in return Timothy was certain to point out, “ That Timmy’s Pepé ” His mother, Georgette Lacey and her husband George. Two brothers Russell Plante and Richard Plante, his wife Leslie, and their two daughters,Erica and Shelly. Oscar Plante, Ronnies father preceded him in death, and leaves behind his family, Joyce, his wife, and their children and grandchildren, Kurt and Karen Courtemanche, and their children Kara and Kyle. Amy and Glenn Skalubinski and their children Neil and Emily & Drew Courtemanche. Nothing is known as to the immediate cause of death, however with little speculation his heart was likely no longer capable of sustaining him. His grandson, family and friends filled it with love and hope and will carry an empty space in theirs with his loss. Ron grew up in the Woonsocket Rhode Island area, prior to joining the United States Air Force where he served with Honor and Pride. During that time he met and married Eileen. They relocated to Parkville Missouri where he worked and attended night school to receive his A&P license. He began work at Trans World Airline and spent his Thirty-Six year career there and with American Airlines. In 1983 Ron and his family relocated to St. Charles Missouri where he continued work in the airline industry until his heart surgery and subsequent loss of his sternum due to a staff infection. That however did not stop him from spending three days a week caring for his grandson Timothy. The two of them shared a special bond, one that kept Pepé planning and looking to the future. Thought out his life he was a devoted husband and loving father, he was active in the lives of his children, friends and fellow machinists. He was always ready to lend a hand or an ear or advice to anyone who needed assistance. Please keep him, his family and those who knew him in your thoughts and in your prayers. Take the north service road to Parkway Dr. Will be the 2nd thru road off the service road. Prayer to St. Jude For Special Favor O glorious Apostle St. Jude, true relative of Jesus and Mary, I salute you through the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Through this Heart, I praise and thank God for all the graces He has bestowed upon you. Humbly prostrate before you, I implore you through this Heart to look down upon me with compassion. Despise not my poor prayer and let not my trust be in vain. To you has been assigned the privilege of aiding mankind in the most desperate cases. Oh, come to my aid that I may praise the mercies of God. All my life I will be grateful to you and will be your faithful client until I can thank you in heaven. Amen.
