Nancy Lucille GINNEVER

Nancy Lucille Thompson Ginnever, age 80, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. Her final moments were filled with prayer, love, and grace—just as she wished. Nancy courageously battled Lupus and Alzheimer’s for many years. In her final season, she was lovingly cared for by her husband, Joe, whose unwavering devotion stood as a powerful testament to their enduring love and commitment. A woman of deep Catholic faith, Nancy lived her life in service to others. She was passionately dedicated to the pro-life mission of Birthright and was proud to be the founder of the Wentzville, Missouri Birthright location. Through this ministry, she offered compassion, support, and hope to countless women facing unplanned or challenging pregnancies—leaving a legacy of love and courage. Nancy was also a beloved figure in the community of St. Charles. Alongside her mother Charlotte, she was one of the original “Grandmas” behind Grandma’s Cookies, which first opened its doors on Main Street in 1976. Together, they helped build a local treasure that continues to bring sweetness and joy to generations of families. Nancy’s greatest wish was for her family to pray the Rosary for her when her time came—a wish that was lovingly and faithfully fulfilled. Her passing was sacred and peaceful, surrounded by the people she loved, uplifted by prayer and unwavering faith. Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Charles Thompson; her mother, Charlotte (Mueller) Thompson; her sister, Sharon Buhr; and her brother, Bill Thompson. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 60 years, Joe Ginnever, who stood faithfully by her side through every season of life. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and service. Nancy was the loving mother of three children: Brad Ginnever (Chasidy), Jeannie Dickherber (Alan), and Scott Ginnever (Melanie). Nancy is also survived by her beloved brother, Pete Thompson, and held dear her foster siblings, whom she loved deeply: Mary (Klenke) Lindemann, Charles Klenke, Johnny Klenke, and Gene Klenke. She was a proud and deeply loving grandmother to: Brittany Bryant (Jimmy), Bradley Tyler Ginnever (Emma), Jesse Cody Ginnever (Hillary), Jordan Good, Logan Good, Evan Dickherber (Autumn Bess), Eric Dickherber, Audrey Dickherber, Luke Dickherber, Joe Ginnever, Caleb Colvin (Irene), Carson Colvin (Madison), Alex Ginnever (Madison Yancey), Lilliana Ginnever (Jacob Frost), Jack Ginnever, Owen Ginnever, and Ben Ginnever. She also cherished her great-grandchildren: Hayden Bryant, Landon Bryant, Camden Bryant, Easton Bryant, Timber Barton, Raeleigh Good, Sawyer Good, Colt Henry Colvin, Charlotte Colvin, and Millie Colvin. A Mass and luncheon will be held to celebrate Nancy’s life on July 12 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dardenne. Visitation will take place in the vestibule from 9:30–10:30 a.m., followed by Mass. A procession to the Columbarium for the placement of her ashes will follow. In true Joe fashion, a celebration of life luncheon will be held afterward in the parish café—an opportunity to gather, share stories, and honor the beautiful life Nancy lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for prayers—especially the Rosary—for the repose of Nancy’s soul.
