Michael Elliot SCOTT

Mike Scott passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 16th, 2025, at the age of 68. He is survived by his mother, Helen “Louise”, his loving wife of 42 years, Becky, son Alex (Keely) and grandson Calvin. He dearly loved his sister-in-laws, Teresa (John), Debra, and nephews Brett and Blake. He was like a second father to many. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Calvin Scott. Mike was born to Earl and Louise at St. Mary’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO on June 26th, 1956. He was a graduate of Pattonville High School (1974) where he began dating his future wife at 15 years old. He then graduated from Ranken Technical College and was subsequently employed for 40 years at Weber Chevrolet in Creve Coeur, MO. Affectionately known as “Scotty”, Mike was a highly skilled technician and had a proclivity to complex diagnosis and repair. Mike and Becky were married in St. Louis on June 11th, 1982. They had one son, Alex, in 1985. Mike retired in 2016 after the birth of his Grandson Calvin and took on the role of “Papa” and spent his days as full-time babysitter. Mike was a 49-year member of Bridgeton Lodge No. 80 A.F.&A.M., Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, and Moolah Shriner. He was a member of IAMAW Lodge No. 777. He was also a member of Ozark Fly Fishers, and Trout Unlimited. Mike was a passionate fly fisherman, skilled rod-builder, and fly tier. Like his father, he held Bennett Springs as a special place, but also loved fishing Montana, Colorado, Arkansas, and Wisconsin with his son by his side. Mike was a friend to anyone he met. He loved nothing more than to help a family member, neighbor, or stranger with anything he could. He was a skilled hobby machinist and loved to tinker in his shop. He loved to cook, have some “Water from Scotland” and the occasional fine cigar around a blazing fire pit. He also leaves behind two little westies, Mac and Scotty. He left way too soon but with very few regrets and will be missed dearly. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 6-8pm, January 22nd, 2025, at Alternative Funeral & Cremation Services, 2115 Parkway Drive, St. Peters, MO 63376.
