Margaret Ann VOELM

Margaret Ann Bromert Voelm 11/16/1927 - 3/26/2019 Saint Charles, MO On Tues. March 26, 2019, Margaret Voelm, lovingly known as Mimi to her family and friends danced into the waiting arms of God in Heaven. She transitioned as gracefully as she lived, anointed in the presence of her loved ones. Maggie was born in Amarillo, Texas, to Margaret A. Hackfort and Dr. Joseph F. Bromert. She attended the University of North Texas as a Voice Major and married the love of her life, Jay “Whitey” Voelm in Amarillo, TX in 1966. Together they owned and operated The Quality Rock Shop and Wagon Yard Campground in Canyon, TX while raising their daughter Patricka Voelm and son John Michael Voelm. Maggie as she was known to most, loved to sing for the Lord and performed in church and at local baseball games. She was known for being a Chicago Cubs fan. Her loving spirit and kindness were evident in all that she did. She enjoyed working for Braniff airlines in her younger years. Later, she developed her artistic talents and became a Master Silversmith designing jewelry. People would come from near and far to order special pieces from her. Mimi was also dedicated to the service of others after Whitey passed in 1985. She never remarried. She did mission trips with Mercy Ships and worked for Life Challenge of Amarillo, TX. Quietly, she supported many Native American children through World Changers Ministries of Oklahoma. Her family knew her as a loving and devoted mother and self proclaimed “Health-nut”. Her healthy lifestyle legacy lives on in her two children, four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Maggie is survived by her son, John Michael Voelm and daughter-in-law Kelly Voelm. Her daughter, Patricka Voelm-Caldera and Todd Dorsey. Her granddaughter Allora Jay McCullough (Brock), and grandson Kirkland McCullough of Missouri. Her grandchildren Jennifer Lane (Ritchie) with great-grandchildren Emma, Abigail, Ethan, Sophie, and Reagan Lane. As well as Jillian Mills (Josh) with Molly, Ellie, and Finley Mills, all of Texas. Maggie’s life represented the love of Jesus to all she met and prayed daily for three hours at a time for any and all who asked. Her life, light, and laughter will truly be missed. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date and all will be welcomed. Announcements will be made on FaceBook. Anticipate the last weekend of July or first weekend of Aug.
