Louis O. AHNER

Louis O. Ahner, 93, born on December 27, 1928, from Goose Creek, French Village, MO., died Monday, August 1, 2022, at the home of his daughter Doris Meyer in Lake Saint Louis, MO., where he had resided for the last 15 years. Louis is originally from Kirkwood MO., where he worked in the family business, Ahner's Florist and Greenhouse for many years. He also worked in the Autobody Repair field and worked for many dealerships and body shops in the St. Louis area for many years. He married the love of his life Barbara Jean (Anderson) Ahner on August 23, 1963. He eventually moved to the country with his family in 1974 and settled in the Lake Community of Goose Creek, French Village MO., where he lived for 33 years, until in 2007 he moved to Lake Saint Louis, MO., to live with his daughter Doris Meyer. Doris and Cindy took great care of him for almost 10 years while he was bedridden and made sure he was always well taken care of. He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife of 21 years Barbara Jean Ahner. He also lost his oldest son Alan Ahner in 2008. He was also proceeded in death by his parents Paul and Louise Ahner of Kirkwood, MO., and his eight siblings, Theodore, Viola, Arthur, Paula, Mildred, Herbert, Harold and Paul Ahner. He was a loving father and father in law to Cynthia Khan of Lake Saint Louis, MO, Barbara (David) Hayes of Troy, MO, Doris (Robert) Meyer of Lake Saint Louis, MO, Alan Ahner (Deceased), Laura (Bryan) Hennen, of St. Charles, MO, Mark Ahner of French Village, MO, Scott (Melissa) Ahner of French Village, MO, and Tambrala (Robert) Sanders of Wentzville, MO. He is also the Grandfather to 17 grandchildren, Angie (Kenny) Kohr, Julie Hayes, DJ Hayes, Gina (Marty) Meyer, Tony Meyer, Jamie (Brian) Callery, Bryan Jr. Hennen, Allison Hennen, Justin (Erin) Hennen, Bryanna Hennen, Kyle (Stephanie) Ahner, Reagan Ahner, Alexus Ahner, Barbara (Shayne) Merritt, Haven Holland, Layla Ahner and Marlaina Sanders. He also has 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Louis lived a long healthy life and loved gardening, especially growing tomatoes, doing Auto Body work and watching the same movies over and over again. He would do anything for anybody, even the shirt of his back if you needed it more than him. Affectionately known as Papa Louie, he will be greatly missed and his loving memory will be cherished forever. There will be a Memorial Visitation at Alternative Funeral & Cremation Services on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Louis will be cremated per his request, and a graveside ceremony will be held for family at his final resting place along side his late wife Barbara Jean Ahner at the Bonne Terre cemetery at a later date.
