Larry Eugene KEMNER

Larry Eugene Kemner, age 76, was the youngest of two children, born to Eugene and Helen Kemner on November 29, 1946, in Saint Louis, MO at St. Mary's Hospital. Larry grew up in Brentwood, MO and graduated from Brentwood High School (1966). Larry loved sharing memories of his time in high school and continued his lifelong friendship with his best friend, Leslie "Les" Card. Also, Larry was a power hitter in softball and loved his days of playing football for the Eagles. Lastly, Larry, was in the Honors Spanish Club in high school, loved to draw, had beautiful penmanship and was a good singer (but would hide this talent out of embarrassment). After high school, Larry went to South East Missouri State University (SEMO), where he completed two semesters of college courses before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. Larry graduated from boot camp, at Camp Pendleton in South Carolina (1967), and then went on to do two tours in Vietnam. He was our HERO in every sense of the word. Larry was set up on a blind date, shortly after his time in the Marine's, with Victoria Wilkerson, and they went on to have 40 years of matrimony and four children. Larry and Victoria raised their children in the Catholic Church, and Larry's faith always was an intricate part of his life. He was a member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church, in Cottleville, MO. Larry loved to watch Cardinal Baseball and his favorite TV shows (NCIS, Blue Bloods, In Living Color & Married with Children), listening to his favorite band "Meatloaf" and he could make the best barbeque ribs and chicken. Larry loved spending time with his family and being a comedian. Although Larry was soft spoken and introverted, animals, children and adults were always attracted to him (especially in his later years). He had a way of making you laugh until you cried. On January 5, 2023, Jesus called Larry home. Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory: his four adult children: Leslie (Patrick, deceased), Michael, Patrick and Christina. His grandchildren: Brittany (Junius III), Madison, Brooke "Brookie", Patrick, Steven, Alannah and Isabella "Bella." His great grandchildren: Junius IV and Emma. His older sister, Mary Lou Seeger (Ron) and nephews: Craig (Karen) and Steve (Debbie) along with a host of friends. Larry will have a Full Honors Graveside Service on January 20, 2023, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 10:30am SHARP. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. The family and loved ones of Larry Kemner would like to extend our warmest and heartfelt gratitude for all the prayers, calls and support provided to us during this time. Crossing Over Oh, please don’t feel guilty It was my time to go. I see you are still feeling sad, And the tears just seem to flow. We all come to earth for our lifetime, And for some, it’s not so many years I don’t want you to keep crying You are shedding so many tears. I haven’t really left you Even though it may seem so. I have just gone to my heavenly home, And I’m closer to you than you know. Just believe that when you say my name, I’m standing next to you, I know you long to see me, But there’s nothing I can do.
