Kraig Erwin BOMKE

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kraig E. Bomke, of Wentzville, Missouri. He passed away early in the morning on March 30, 2025, after a strong fight with Parkinson's Disease. Kraig was almost 81 years old. He was at home surrounded by his family. He was the youngest of three brothers. Kraig was born in San Francisco, California, on May 15, 1944. He graduated from Turlock High School in 1962 and joined the California National Guard in 1964 and served for six years. Kraig was honorably discharged in 1970. He married his high school sweetheart, Pat Headley, in May of 1965 and they moved to Fremont, California where he started working at General Motors as a repairman in July. During their almost 60 years of marriage, they had two children: Traci Mechelle in 1967 and Terri Suzanne in 1969. Kraig moved his family to Missouri in 1983, to work at the new GM plant, when the GM plant in Fremont closed. Kraig retired from General Motors in 2002, after 37 years. He spent his free time with his family and completing the house he started building in Curryville, Missouri in 1996. Throughout his life, Kraig had a love for flying, sailing, racing and could build anything he set his mind to. Kraig dreamed of being a pilot and when he was younger and owned a glider. Later, he built two ultralight airplanes, an airstrip and a hangar. Kraig also owned a sailboat and loved sailing on lakes in California. He built an A-frame cabin in Arnold, California in 1976, that family and friends enjoyed for years. Kraig loved attending or watching the Indy 500. He was also gifted at woodworking and building furniture. He loved music and animals. Kraig loved his family and would make a point to tell them he loved them and appreciated them as often as possible. He is survived by his wife, Pat, his daughters: Traci and her husband James Sheridan, Terri and her husband David Rudin, his grandchildren: Mallorie and her partner Eldin, Miranda, Paulina and her husband Jake, Jessica and her husband Cody, Benjamin and his wife Roxy, Nick and his fiancé Marissa, his great grandchildren: Dilan, Grayson and LeAnn, and his brother Kurt. In honor of Kraig's final wishes, there will be no funeral. His family will spread his ashes in California around all the places he loved. Although Kraig is gone, he will live on in our hearts forever. There are no services planned.
