KIMBROUGH, Alice

Alice A. Kimbrough, age 82, of St. Charles Missouri peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 4:15pm in her home where she resided for 40 years. Alice was propitious enough to have passed in her bed surrounded by loved ones, who were able to keep her as comfortable as possible, and were fortunate to have had the honor to hold her hand and remain at her side as she took her last breath. Alice was born in Manchester, Massachusetts on August 26, 1930 to her mother Mary Burnham (Corrigan) and her father James Burnham. She was preceded in death by both her mother and father many years ago, as well as her late husband, Robert Estes Kimbrough in 1975. Alice was survived by her daughter, Ruth Anne Kimbrough, age 48, her granddaughters Mary Elizabeth Kimbrough, age 12, Jessica Kimbrough, age 29, Jessica’s husband Edward Nevel Jr., also age 29. She was survived by her great-grandchildren, Haelly Augustine, age 11, Riley Jacob, age 9, James Robert, age 5, and Jaidyn David, age 2. All parties listed are from St. Charles as well. She was also survived in death by her brother, Jim Burnham and his wife Agnes Burnham, along with many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives, who currently reside in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Alice will be fondly remembered for the honest, outspoken, vivacious, effervescent, lively and incredible woman that she was. Her kindness, acceptance of others, and unconditional love that she expressed are now priceless, treasured memories that are irreplaceable, just as she herself. She had a special bond and love for her cat, “Baby”, who was a very faithful and cherished companion to her. She loved her cat no different than a child. She loved flowers and their beauty, enjoyed sitting outside in the fresh air and cool breeze, playing solitaire, watching “Ellen”, and had a wonderful time walking thru the thrift stores with the kids and the family just to see all the wonderful deals she could get and teaching the kids that its not the price of an object, its the value. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the happiness in her life, and she always enjoyed doing arts and crafts with them, and teaching them how to make things out of very little materials, simply using there imagination. Alice brought just as much joy to our lives as we brought to hers. Alice Kimbrough was a wonderful, unique woman with a wonderful soul and a heart made of gold. She will be deeply missed. There is not a single person in this world who could take her place, there is just truly nobody quite like her. A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday , May 28, 2013 from 5 pm - 7:00pm with a service at 6:00pm at Alternative Funeral & Cremation Services, 2115 Parkway Dr, St. Peters, MO 63376.
