Jeffrey "Hoss" VAUGHAN

Jeff “Hoss” Vaughan, age 51, took his last breath on this earth and his first breath in heaven on April 28th, 2015 after a short battle with liver cancer. He was born on August 14th, 1963 in Troy, MO to Wilburn ‘Wes’ and Dorothea Lee Vaughan (nee Best) who both preceded him in death. Jeff married his joy and source of strength, Ruth Anne (whom he called Annie) on June 23rd, 2014 at Tip Top Roadside Park which was one of his favorite lookouts of God’s creation. He was a devoted father to his baby girl, Grace, and his beloved daughters through marriage, Mary and Jessica & (EJ). This union also blessed him with 5 grandchildren, Haelly, Riley, James, Jaidyn and Jaylah. Jeff was a loving brother to his sisters Janice Cobb & (Jerry) and April Lewis & (David) and his brothers & life long friends Ronnie Vaughan & (Tina) and the late Randy Vaughan & (Debbie). He was a proud uncle of 9 nieces and nephews, and 15 great nieces and nephews. Jeff spent most of his working career doing construction and various types of maintenance for Brake Rebuilders and AVMATS. He was a jack of all trades who mastered whatever he set his hand to. His interests ranged from hunting to fishing to woodwork, leather work, scenery painting and playing the guitar. He won awards at car shows for his blue 1963 Chevy Impala car and his red 1963 Chevy Impala wagon that he rebuilt and restored with some of his dearest friends. Jeff also loved archery and was a skilled bowman. He participated in Mountain Man Rendezvous where he would set up his teepee and even hand stitched his own clothes. He loved hanging out with his family at their land in Annapolis, MO and spending time in his cabin that he built from landscape timbers. However, his true love was riding on his motorcycle and enjoying the wind in his hair and God’s creation all around him. Some of his most memorable bike trips were going across country on Route 66 with his best buddy, Abel, and riding from St. Louis to New York to the Smokey Mountains and back home on a father/daughter trip with Grace, his best friend, Mitch, and Mitch’s daughter, Sarah. His love of God and riding his motorcycle led him to become the President of Messiah’s Chosen Motorcycle Ministry and an active member of his home church, Joshua House, where he recently helped build on an addition. Jeff volunteered his time at the veterans home and to anyone that needed his help. A Memorial Visitation will take place on Friday, May 8th, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and a Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 9th, 2015 at 10:00 AM followed by a potluck lunch. Both will be held at Joshua House located at 7214 Willow Lane in Hazelwood, MO. In lieu of flowers we are requesting contributions be given to his family to help with final expenses.
