DEWEES, GLENOR ANN (nee MANSBRIDGE ) February 5 "GRAM NORI" Peacefully at home surrounded by her family, Gram got her wings joining those who left too soon; daughter Myrna Cowan Smith, grandson Scott Daniel Cowan, and two infant great granddaughters, Kelsey Danielle Cowan and Kylie Nicole Lehmann. She was born in Pinkneyville, IL on August 12, 1918 to William and Anna (nee Leo) Mansbridge. Glenor was the dedicated wife of the late Frank S. DeWees and was predeceased by her siblings: William Mansbridge, Harry Mansbridge, Dorothy Sheahan, Grace Graves, Hazel Ulrich, Amelia Kopp and infant brother Robert. Survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Patty DeWees; proud grandmother of Jim and Kari Cowan, Jeanne Lehmann, Jessica and Nathan Nenninger, Alex and Matt DeWees. Great grandmother of Chase and Alyssa Lehmann, Izabella and Zoey Nenninger, Rick and Ashley Louis. Gram is also survived by many nieces, nephews, greats and more. Gram retired from Carter Carburetor after more than 45 years of dedicated service. During this time she raised two children and cared for her husband until his passing in 1979. Gram spent countless vacations and weekends over the years with her grandchildren at the family farm. Remembering; dirt bikes, skipping rocks, swimming and fishing in Ottery creek, shooting guns and hunting snakes, fireworks battles, extended family and the "Pig Boys" pig roasts, camp fires and Uncle Lester's forest fire sized bonfires, scary stories followed by walks to the cemetary at night, spoons, "If I had a hammer", Fels Naptha soap, and the endless jugs of water filled and carried for cooking and cleaning. Years later, with a second round of young grandchildren, Gram became the favorite babysitter and transporter again for Jess, Alex and Matt. Mornings started with bacon and chocolate milk and afternoons she made chicken alouette or anything else they wanted. She was fondly remembered for bringing little stuffed animals for her great grandkids Chase and Alyssa too. Gram gave of herself completely like no other we have known. We are so grateful to have been a part of her life and to have had her patience and guidance so generously given for so many years. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Dave Steiner, Allen Pickett, Susan Aubuchon and Carol Gabel for their selfless assistance to Gram and our family. In lieu of floral arrangements, memorial contributions may be made to local Breast Cancer Charities in memory of her daughter Myrna, or any charity of your choice. Gram's wishes to be cremated have been honored, please join us to celebrate her amazing life on Wednesday February 12, 2014, 4 - 8p.m. Dave & Busters 13857 Riverport Drive 63043 Hors d'oeuvres and Drinks provided. The memorial service will begin at 6 pm. for all to share your stories and memories
