Daniel Michael BEAN

Daniel Michael Bean, 60 years young, went to be with our Lord in Heaven on Wednesday, January 31st, 2024, at home where he wanted to be, surrounded by his wife and family members. Dan was known to us as Pops, Ol Man, Big Guy, Burr Head, and of course Peter Pan! Some of us weren’t born into the titles of which we played in his life. Yet he had no problem letting you be where you wanted to be and welcomed everyone. Dan was a great listener. He was known to have his phone up to his ear listening and helping you solve all of your problems, as he pushed his own to the back burner. He truly had a kind soul. Dan was born on September16th, 1963, in St. Louis, MO. He was an over the road truck driver for more than 30 years. He was known in the industry to be able to make it anywhere in the United States. Well, none of the “O” States! Fighting that black dog! He is survived by his beautiful wife Brenda Bean (Nee; McDaniel) of Wentzville, MO. His children: Michael Bean and David Gilliland of Wentzville, MO, Donnie (Jessica) Bean of Wentzville, MO, Dustin (Caitlin) Bean of O’Fallon, MO, Sean (Ashley) Gilliland of Winfield, MO, Christopher (Meagen) Bean of Moscow Mills, MO, and his daughters Kelli (Dan) Owens of Pacific, MO and Christine Johnson of Wellsville, MO. Dans grandchildren of this village are Rebecca Leeann, Michael James, William Robert, Liam Patrick, Bentley Dean, Jameson Michael, Daisy Mae, Nataleigh Anne and Everleigh Marie. Dan was grateful to have gotten to meet baby Bennett. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Dwyer (nee; Martin) of St. Charles, MO. His brothers, Lon (Carolyn) Bean Sr. of Wentzville, MO, Joe Williamson of St. Charles, MO, and Lon (Jeannie) Bean Jr. of Winfield, MO, and his sisters, Angela (Mike) Kindle of Crestwood, MO and Paula Bean of St. Charles, MO not to forget Tyler (Caleigh) Bean of Winfield, MO Dan is preceded in death by his brothers Ron Bean and Donnie Bean, and his sister Maria Williamson. Uncle Joe said it best Wednesday over dinner, “It took a village!”. Indeed, it did! We learned this through all these years in this village, each of us filling in wherever needed! We were blessed to be a part of it and as promised to Dan, we will continue. We hope the angels know what they have up there because down here sorrow falls upon us like thick fog. He meant something kind of big to us and his departure comes painfully like a deep wound to our hearts, felt by us all, as he had such an impact on all our lives. Dan will be deeply missed. He said, “No Tears!” “Don’t cry for me!” Sorry Big Guy! Dan was so many things to each of us. But let me tell you a few things he was not. He was not in a hurry! He was not intimidating! And he was not a fish in a fishbowl! Until we meet again, you are forever in our hearts. For his friends and family that knew him best, may you find peace knowing we prayed Tuesday evening to the angels that they get his coffee ready on the way down here if they wanted to avoid the Nakey, Wakey, Shakey!! There will be a Memorial Gathering at Alternative Funeral & Cremation Services on Monday, February 5th, 2024, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, with a Service at 7:00pm.
