Clara Jane BOYD

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Clara Jane Boyd (nee Vohsen), of Wentzville, MO on January 4, 2025 at the age of 80 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Cindy (Marc), Jim (Vicky) and Chris (Susan); grandchildren: Daniel (Heather), Erica (Travis), Andrew, James, Matthew, Megan, and Hugh; great grandchildren: Jane and Dakota, sister Betty Patton, inlaws: Ray Boyd, Mike (Kathy) Boyd, Mary Ellen (Tom) Kalapinski, Connie Vohsen and as well as numerous relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by he husband William John Boyd, her parents, William Craft Vohsen and Clara Joyce Vohsen (Saunders) and her brothers Jerry Vohsen and Ronald Vohsen. Clara owned Hotsy Unlimited with her late husband, Bill. She ran the office like a Drill Seargent. Their son, Jim, has worked with them since the start of their ownership managing the service side of the business. Son, Chris, joined the company in 2008 working the sales and drop off repairs side of the business. Jim and Chris are the new owners of the business and strive to continue serve their customers with the level of professionalism and expertise the have come to expect. We are excited for the future of Hotsy. Clara was a huge sports fan. She loved her St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Rams (when they were in St. Louis.) She more recently became a Kansas City Chiefs Fan. Clara could call or umpire a game better than any referee out there. (wink) But the teams she loved most were those on which her grandchildren played. She attended as many games as she could and was known by athletes and parents alike. They always looked forward to seeing her at the games. Clara loved Christmas. She had decorations for her house for every nook and cranny. She always had two Christmas Trees and still put up ornaments that her adult children made in grade school. She put a Nativity in the front yarn but left the manger empty until Christmas Eve when one of the youngest grandchildren would get to put baby Jesus in the Manger. One of her holiday “rules” was that the Christmas Decorations had to stay up until the Feast of the Three Kings. Clara was a founding member of the Wednesday morning bowling league Harvest Honeys which started sometime in the 1980's. She bowled every Wednesday well into her 70's. She instilled a love of the game in her children and grandchildren. The grandchildren would delight in any time they could get her to the bowling alley for a game. The family would like to thank nurse Dan in the step-down unit at St. Joseph Hospital, Lake St. Louis, for his empathy and tender compassion he showed our mom during her stay there. He is an amazing nurse and we feel blessed to have had him care for our mom. We also thank Breeze Hospice and nurse Justin for helping us take mom home and for guiding us through her care for her last few days. We are forever grateful for your kindness and expertise. You helped us tremendously as we supported mom on her journey to step into Heaven. Thank you. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Flint Hill (5051 Hwy P, Wentzville, MO 63385 ) at 11:00 am. The Mass will be followed by refreshments at St. Theodore Knights of Columbus, 2061 Grothe Rd, Wentzville, Missouri, (approx.12pm-2pm) All family, friends, and those touched by Clara are invited to attend to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat. In remembrance of Clara's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital
