Carol A. KIMBERLIN

Carol A. Kimberlin passed away early in the morning on Saturday April 20th, 2024. She left this dimension just as she wanted to, peacefully in her sleep and without pain. She was 90 years old. She was born to Jessie and Peter Darrow on April 1st, 1934. Carol lived in New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, and finally Missouri. She graduated as the valedictorian from Grover Cleveland High School in 1951. She spent nearly 25 years married to the love of her life Robert Kimberlin. Carol gave birth to two children, Karen and Joseph. She is survived by numerous family members who loved her very much. This includes her son-in-law James, her grandchildren P.J, Alissa, Todd, Kristen, Jamie, and Tiffany as well as their spouses and partners Elizabeth, Robert, Andrea, and Eric. Carol loved spending time with her great grandchildren Braxon, Bayley, Lux, Royal, Max, and Dublin. She was also thrilled to meet her great, great granddaughter Laiklynn. When one thinks of what it means to be a “good person”, Carol is likely to come to mind. She spent her life in the service of others and was always there to help her friends and family in whatever way they needed. She was always there for the ones she loved with a kind word, advice, financial support, or a hearty meal. Carol was most famous for her love of animals, especially dogs. She served as a volunteer for the SPCA and fostered dozens of dogs at her home when their shelters were full. She was the likely cause of many a traffic jam as she was always the first to leap from her car to save a stray creature, be it a turtle or a puppy, from harm and abandonment. To encounter Carol was to encounter kindness, generosity, and laughter. Carol had a love of music, especially country and gospel, which was only matched by her love of pork, especially chops and pulled. She was a passionate watcher of movies and reader of books, especially ones that had “Carol endings”. She was a player of cards, an epic completer of puzzles, and a shameless devotee of the Hallmark Channel’s mysteries and Christmas romances. But, most of all, she loved her family and reveled in the time she spent with them. Carol requested that no traditional funeral be held, but rather people that knew her celebrate her life instead. Anyone looking to honor her memory should donate to their local animal rescue organization.
