Brian Edward LAMKEMEYER

Brian Edward Lamkemeyer of St. Peters, MO passed away on July 6th, 2022 at the age of 54 while at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 14, 1967 in St. Louis, MO to Marian (Gocal) Whalen and Jerome Lamkemeyer. Brian attended Sacred Heart Catholic School followed by St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Florissant, MO. He attended the Universities of Missouri (Columbia and St. Louis) both for a short time and played on the football team during his time at Mizzou. He then completed the EMT and Paramedic programs at Christian Hospital followed by the St. Louis County Fire Academy. He later earned a bachelor’s degree online. Brian dedicated his life’s work to being a first responder; first with Olivette Fire Department, then West County Fire Protection District where he spent the latter 25 years of his career. Most recently he had earned the rank of Engineer in 2017. Brian and Bethany Lamkemeyer were united in marriage on October 3rd, 1992 after which they resided in Florissant, MO. Shortly thereafter they moved to St. Peters where they raised their three boys Luke William, Jacob Jerome, and Mark Edward. As a family they enjoyed boating and hanging out with all of their amazing friends and neighbors. Brian especially loved being on the water and spending time on the boat as well as doing yard work, working in the garage, and playing bags. Brian is survived by his faithful wife Bethany (Dobrich) Lamkemeyer, who has long worked as a registered nurse, and his three sons who have followed in his footsteps as first responders. Luke Lamkemeyer is a police officer, Jacob Lamkemeyer a firefighter-paramedic, and Mark Lamkemeyer is in paramedic school. His daughter in law Shelby (Jacob) is in Physician Assistant school. Brian was very proud of his family and their accomplishments. He is also survived by his father Jerome Lamkemeyer and many wonderful family members and friends. Brian is preceded in death by his loving mother, Marian “Cooky” (Gocal) Whalen. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday July 16th, 2022 at All Saints Catholic Church 7 McMenamy Rd, St Peters, MO 63376 immediately followed by a celebration of life reception at the Professional Firefighters of Eastern Missouri Union Hall 115 McMenamy Rd.
