William Patrick OGLESBY

On January 5, 2023, William Patrick Oglesby died. He was 86 years of age. Bill, or 'Pat' to most, leaves behind daughters Violet Jeane Miller and Sheri L. Oglesby-Shawver; granddaughters Kali M. Miller, Paula M. Shawver, Meaghan L. Sullivan (Miller), Casady A. Kment (Oglesby-Shawver), Vanessa Noe and significant other for 12 years Marcella Newman along with so many other close family and friends which number too many to list. Pat was honored, in September of 2022, when his great nephew named his son after him. He now has a namesake, Deacon William Patrick Oglesby. Pat was able to meet his namesake and spend some most treasured time with him. 'Pat' was proceeded in death by his wife Margaret Ellen Handshy-Miller-Oglesby, his parents David Francis Oglesby & Gladys May Gale-Oglesby, 3 bothers: George, Cyril (Bubs), David and one sister, Gladys, and his first-born daughter Patricia Oglesby-Noe (Germany). He will be in grand company in Heaven! 'Pat' Oglesby served in the Army from 1954-1959 during the Korean War. He was first stationed in Korea and was then stationed in Manheim, Germany. Pat Oglesby was well known in his hometown of Florissant, Missouri for his knowledge of cars and his mechanical skills in repairing and restoring cars. Pat was a long-time member of; 'The Buick Club of America-Missouri Charter' where he also served as the President for a time. At the time of his death he was a member of the 'Honkin' Honkers' Car Club. Pat loved old hot rods and had many throughout his life. He also had classically restored antique cars; one of which was bought while attending the Forest Park Easter Car Show and was transported to Belgium. Pat attended many a car show around Missouri and he also attended many out of State; always driving one of his own hot rods or antique autos; to which he won many awards for. Cars were his passion, and he made a life out of enjoying that passion. Pat Oglesby touched many lives, for many years. His love for family and friends was strong and loyal, his death will be a great loss for so very many. Rest in peace Dad. We love you and will miss you deeply.
