Larry Dale GREENWOOD

Larry Dale Greenwood, 85, of New Haven, MO, formally of Montgomery City, MO, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Washington, MO, on November 27, 2024. His daughter Jana was with him. Larry was born January 24th, 1939, to Alfred and Nadine Greenwood, the first of their 9 children. After finishing high school, he moved to Illinois to work on his uncle's farm. He joined the Navy in 1960. while in training in Memphis, TN, he met and married Judith McNair. They divorced in 1966, and he met and married Linda Kelly on September 7th, 1968. They were married for 56 years. He gained another daughter, Peggy Sue Kelly. They were blessed with 2 more children, Christopher and Jana. Larry worked at MacDonnell Douglas for 30 some year, Cleetons Radio and T.V. Service. Purina Mills Grain Company, United States Bulk Mail Center, and G.K.N.. He retired December of 2010. Larry loved riding his motorcycle and still rode it at the age of 85. He enjoyed reading. He loved spending time with family and friends. But mostly he enjoyed time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Linda of New Haven, MO., daughter, Cheral (Rodney) Stiegmann of Wright City, MO., sister-in-law, Glenda Greenwood, son, Christopher (Shirley) Greenwood of Buell, MO., daughter, Jana (Steve Hiatte) McCaw of New Haven, MO., grandchildren, Tamara (Masquad) Mir of Wright City, MO., Allen (Holly) Thomas of Montgomery City, MO., Brian (Priscella) Thomas of Montgomery City, MO., Matthew (Claire) Thomas of St. Louis, MO., Stephanie Hull of O'Fallon, MO., Jon (Stephanie) Hull of Moscow Mills, MO., Chad Smith of Buell, MO., Joseph (Cassidy) Greenwood of Warrenton, MO., Colt Hale of Buell, MO., Trenton McCaw of New Haven, MO., Emily (Noah) Green of Gainsville, FL., brothers, Oscar (Lela) Greenwood of Archie, MO., Bill (Nikki) of Adrian, MO., sisters, Joyce of Adrian, MO., Lucille (Gary) Dawson of Butler, MO., sisters-in-law, Gwen Gaedike of Moscow Mills, MO., Marlyn Henke of Silex, MO., Teba Philipak of Moscow Mills, MO., brother-in-law, Joseph Philipak of Jonesburg, MO., and 22 great grandchildren with 1 on the way, 1 great great grandchild from St. Louis, MO. Many nieces and nephews, family and friends. All that knew him will miss him dearly. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Nadine Greenwood, in-laws, Earnest and Peggy L. Kelly, brothers, Frank and James Greenwood, sisters, Harriet Bledsoe and Susan Sheridan, brother-in-law, Carlos Gaedike and Mark Henke, daughters, Gail Hull and Peggy S. Hale, and grandson, Jacob Kelly. Larry will be cremated and no services at this time as those were his wishes. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Larry was a wonderful husband and an awesome Papa and Grandpa. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
