LAMMING, Tom

Tom Lamming passed away on the morning of Saturday, Sept. 24, at his home surrounded by his wife and five children. Born Sept. 11, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, he was 58 years old. Tom grew up in Webster Groves, Missouri, one of four children of John and Alice Lamming. He graduated in 1971 from Webster Groves High School, and earned bachelor and master’s degrees in business from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Tom joined Arthur Anderson (later named Accenture) in 1978 and enjoyed a rewarding and passionate career, reaching the status of global managing partner, and working world wide in telecommunications management consulting. In more recent years, after retiring from Accenture, he consulted in Australia with the national telephone company. Although Tom was extremely successful professionally, his greatest achievement and reward in life came from his family, relationships with people, including those he worked with, and extensive family. In 1979, Tom married his college sweetheart, Lee Lissner, who has been his best friend and soul mate. They raised five amazing children together (The A-Team), living in Lake St. Louis, Missouri, Denver, Colorado, and Sidney, Australia. Tom was passionate about international travel, Broadway musicals, the Beatles, and hockey. He shared these loves with those around him through trips to New York and London for shows, extended family trips in Australia, Thailand, and the Mediterranean involving his many nieces and nephews who looked up to him as a family leader. Tom not only loved to watch hockey games and was always known for taking family to Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Blues Hockey games, but he himself enjoyed playing hockey with his four sons. As an international traveler, Tom had the opportunity to visit every continent, and most of them with his only daughter. Family and friends remember him as warm, loving, exuberant, deeply engaged, and overly generous with the people in his life. Tom lives on through his wife Lee Lamming, sons Fred, Luke, Peter, Zach, daughter Grace, daughter-in-law Lindsey Lamming, and grandson Nathan Hunter Lamming, as well as his mother Alice Lamming, and siblings Bob Lamming, John Lamming, and Jean Lamming. Tom’s life is being celebrated at a private family ceremony.
