DeLores Mae PILLIARD BROWN

Our hearts are breaking at the loss of our precious Mother, DeLores Mae Pilliard Brown of St. Peters, MO. She embraced her Lord whom she served all her life, and rejoined her husband departing this earth from Hermann, MO on Saturday, January 14th, 2023. DeLores was born in Howard, South Dakota to Kennet Pilliard and Neta Mae (Clites) Pilliard. In 1944 DeLores met and married her true love, Carlos Brown, Jr. DeLores was a dedicated Christian who worshiped and served at several congregations in St. Charles County and Northern California, most recently the Church of Christ in Harvester, MO. DeLores is survived by her children, Shari Hatman (husband Wayne), Carla Rinck (husband Steven), Cara Luter (husband Patrick), Cari Noll (husband Rick) Gregory Brown (wife Christine), Marie Nguyen and daughter in law Debbie Nguyen Litton. Grandchildren, Matthew McClane, Ethan McClane, Wayman Hatman III, Maegan Hatman Thomas, Holly Christensen, Ryan Laguna Brown, Curtis Nguyen, Matthew Nguyen, Emily Moeller, Samantha VanVranken, Tyler VanVranken, Anthony Luter, Alex Luter, Tyler Noll, Taylor Noll Joliff, Katie Nguyen Lake, Tin Nguyen, and Joey Nguyen, Great grandchildren, Connor McClane, Aiden McClane, Malia Hatman, Willa Nguyen, Emma Nguyen, Adrianna Marylin Nguyen, Jaxon Borchert and Levi Moeller. Brothers Dennis Pilliard (Marge) of Curryville, MO and Dick Pilliard (Joyce) of Middleton, MO. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her children Sandra DeLores (Brown) McClane, Candy Sue Brown, Dwight Carlos Brown, Hien Trong Nguyen, son-in-law Donald Wayne McClane, granddaughter Kayla Nguyen Thomas, siblings, Darlene Vaughn, Duane Pilliard, Dean Pilliard, Darrell Pilliard and Dolly Christian. DeLores was an extraordinarily loving and sweet wife and mother. She was a petite woman with a mighty spirit, refined and feminine yet strong, a true steel magnolia. Delores was a master gardener and crocheter. She enjoyed reading and taking courses from Cabot Community College and the University of Southern Illinois. Delores was truly a life-long learner. Grounded in the gospel, she lived a life of service, and sought to bring many to Christ by teaching hundreds of students from around the world through her Bible correspondence lessons. Both Our Mother and Dad were the embodiment of the good Samaritan: always sacrificing to help others with little regard for their own wants or needs. DeLores was a global thinker who embraced families and children from around the world both in her home and her heart. She was a true Proverbs 31 virtuous woman: more valuable than rubies, whose husband did safely trust in her, and who did him good all the days of her life. Memorial Services celebrating the lives of Carlos & DeLores Brown will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 18th 2023 at West End Church of Christ 3815 Old Hwy 94, St. Peters MO 63304. Luncheon hosted by their children following the services.
